As soon as I learn how to record on my computer, I'll post a clip of the Vega. (I know that some kind of recording software came bundled with the operating system on my computer I bought recently).

Richard, That's a really cool model. I got one a few years back, payed too much for it, took it home and.....never looked back. It's a great guitar with two HUGE horseshoe magnets under the metal cover. I got it for what these sell for nowadays (approx.$300-450), but back then it was overpriced. I'l...

Nice guitar! To me it resembles a Vega (By looking at the hand rest, v/t knobs, bridge, fretboard markers, and headstock shape). http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix/5801_vega_1.jpg http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix/5801_vega2_1.jpg With those old ones, it's a tough call. Let us know how it s...

Sorry to repeat myself here, folks. But in case you missed this, you may want to download these tunes and play 'em while doing stuff around the house, etc. during this time of year. It's been a pleasure for my wife, daughter and I puttin' out decorations and what not with music from playing in the b...

Big Bump for a Steinar Gregertsen tune from old forum

Sorry but I had to bring this demo song titled "5 AM" back in the spotlight. It's just to beautiful to let drift away. Excellent Steinar!

Here's a cool 1/2 hour podcast show put together you can download. Just found this today. It's pretty neat, focusing on Bob Dunn for a while, then tracing the history of steel guitar with music samples. Definitely worth the time to download. Hope you enjoy it! Thanks for the link to the Vegabonds' s...

Sometimes 6 strings even seems like too much! Seriously, I could probably survive on the top 4 strings (min/maj/min thirds low to high). There is just so much available on those 4 what with slants and all, I haven't really thought about those 5th and 6th strings "way down there"! :)

I contacted the seller when the auction began, commenting on how the mp3 demo was pretty cool. He responded with many thanks and sent out a CD he made. IMHO, when someone takes the time to build, like he said, an admittedly crude instrument, I tend to think that the person wants to play ASAP and not...

Take your time, listen to your favorite players, and most importantly, enjoy learning. I've found a wealth of information by searching thro...
