'57 Custom Deluxe amp question

Does anyone have experience using a '57 Fender Custom Deluxe amp tweed (reissue)? I'm just wondering how it would sound with a lap steel. I also use a Fender Stratocaster, so I'd need the amp to sound great overall with both instruments. The '57 Custom Deluxe amp is extremely expensive for being so ...

Received this info from an electronics pro:

500Megohms refers to the resistance value of the potentiometer. It is important to have the right value that provides a full range of volume control. If the resistance is too large it could cause the volume to surge at the high end of the pedal movement, making subtle changes difficult. Potentiomete...

Audio taper control?

Andy,
What is an audio taper control? Is it something commercially available, or does one need to have it custom built for this purpose? Thanks.

When I watched Jerry Byrd playing it, it literally brought tears to my eyes. Surely no human can play like that. His talent was truly heaven sent. How did he do that "chime/ethereal" effect on it? Was it merely a light plucking of the strings?

Jerry Byrd has a great version of "Sand" on You Tube. It was recorded in 1990 at the local station in Honolulu. Absolutely fantastic playing.

Tuning for the classic song "Sand."

Can anyone tell me with certainty what tuning the song "Sand" is typically played in on an 8-string? I once heard that the tuning was B11, but i would like to know for sure. Can the song be played in other keys and still sound the same? Jules Ah See, Isaac Akuna, and other great players ha...

Tommy, do you you by chance have a Stringmaster T8 you'd be willing to sell? I'm not in the market at the moment, but sometime this year I may have the money to buy one. Just checking. It sounds like a D8 that you were mentioning here. Any pics?

I just saw that there is a fairly nice looking 1971 Stringmaster D8 available from Austin Vintage Instruments. Only trouble is, it is pricey at $2,450. They are asking too much, but if money is not an issue for you, it may be worth a look on their website.

Is this guitar still available? It was posted April 1st, but I just thought I'd ask. This one you have looks beautiful, and if it sounds as great as it looks, I am interested.

Anybody care to weigh in on the sound of a Nashville 400 vs. a Fender Blues Junior III? Just curious. (Using a Rickenbacher Electro lap.)

Bill,
We should exchange email addresses so we can iron out some of the details of this sale -- if we can agree on terms, etc.

Hi Bill,
What tunings do you have on there now (front and back)? Is the guitar still available? Will you accept a cashier's check? How much do you estimate shipping to New Mexico will be?

Interestingly, I just learned that Fender does not officially issue decals or logos. Apparently they do not want them placed on unauthorized equipment.

Fender 400 pedal steel logo wanted

I recently refurbished a 1958 Fender 400 pedal steel and would like to put a Fender logo on it. It could even be a decal, and wouldn't have to be exact as long as it was in the general 1950s or early 60s era style. My web searches have yielded nothing and Fender's online site doesn't seem to offer l...
