yeah, Home Home on the Road is the one. Buddy told me that the version of She's No Angel on that album is the best he ever played it. And that overall while they were recording it he just couldn't do anything wrong on a bunch of those nights.

Buddy Cage has passed.

Fare thee well my friend. we'll see you one the other side. God this is hard. Buddy Cage has passed. I'll have a longer post tonight. But for now, let me just say that this guy was a friend and mentor like no other, and a ferocious musician. Bye Buddy, thanks for a lifetime of joy, and all the suppo...

Searching for a steeler named Glen Morton

He would have been in the Denver area with the High Trail Riders in the late 70's early 80's. word has it he was playing steel for Dolly in Tennessee for a while after that, but that's not fully verified. lost track of him after that, the riders are doing reunion shows and are trying to find him. An...

yeah, the fact that the spots move is confounding. im going to try a new couple of strings right there and see if that does it, if so ill changed the whole set.

i just wanted to see if this same thing had afflicted anyone else, because its a weird issue.

Dead spots on E9th neck

So I've got a couple of Dead spots on my B string, right past the fret markers 1 and 3. when I press the pedal or detune the string they move. And i found one on my C6th neck the other night as well. It's a fulawka, have never had an issue with it before. you slide up to it, note rings, hit the spot...

go to the saddle n spurs saloon, owned by Bobby Kingston. Classic country all weekend, music every night. Its a locals bar off the strip but has been voted best in vegas 3 years running now. great players there all the time, and of course Bobby is a legend. great place, always packed.

That guitar spent about 10 tears in limbo after it was stolen-turned up on ebay and was retrieved by the police. I have some pics somewhere of Buddy getting it returned to him.

Lee: Eddie Fulawka. He has his own tuning chart he used to set up his guitars.

All-thanks for the input-as I got better I noticed that there was an off sounding interval or two that were sticking out, especially on recordings. moving to this new chart has fixed that.

tuning question

So I'm going away from straight 440 and back to Eddies tempered tuning. be nice to have that in my stomp classic as a preset, and there's way to do it BUT! they only adjust in cents, and eddie adjusted the pitch. IE: My B's are at 440, but the raise to C# is at 437. All my tuners have the ability to...

Oh Dear-One of my favorite people ever-Hanging with Eddie in St Louis was one of my favorite things to do in the world. I'm proud to say I have 2 of his steels, and they are just the most amazing instruments you could own.

RIP Eddie-thanks for everything.

Like Red Kilby used to have. Every where I play folks ask about them and I'm about out. used to just call Red and get more, but well, sadly not anymore. Is his family still selling them? Or someone else?

Thanks

makes me sad to even think about. I miss Red.

We have more than a little jam band in us and I'm a Cage disciple, so no-except for key phrases or intros like Big City or Panama Red.

yeah that what i thought. on Home Home on the Road he still has an Emmons. Ironically, I believe that was stolen too. They lost a whole truck towards the end of Buddy's time with them. He had several Emmons over the years.
