Remington playboy 8 string for sale or trade

I have an 8 string Remington playboy for sale. I just don't have time to learn to play it(hence my absence from the forum). I am the only owner, and has seen very little use. I would like to get $600 for it, and would also consider tradig it for a decent banjo or mandolin.

Thanks for looking

That's beautiful Sonny. If I were you, I'd try my hand at a six-string, and maybe loan it indefintely to your neighbor here in San Antonio...

I can comment from the other way around, Dobro to steel guitar. I think some bar stuff translates, especially vibrato, but w/ dobro, the bar is all over the place, and leaves the strings quite often - which I've been told is not preferred on the steel guitar. As far as blocking goes, with dobro I us...

Eric,

How many necks. There are 2 stores here that each have one. One's a triple, and one's a double. They're priced at 2000 and 1100 respectively. The double's in really good shape.

I've no doubt Rick. I've got a Playboy, and need no convincing that this is a good deal.
It's my wife who needs the convincing.

I have one of Herb's 8-string Playboy models, and the quality is impeccable. If I had the funds and time, I'd order one of his multi-neck guitars.

Thanks Brad! I'm in need for a 6-string electric to basically use as an electric dobro, and this looks like it may suit the bill. I look forward to you review.

I tune my 3rds (the E) and 6ths (the A) down -3 cents, and it's makes a world of difference. I leave the tonic and 5ths equal.

It's in really nice shape, especially the body. The chrome on the pickups has some wear/corrosion, and the tuners/pans could stand to be cleaned. Other than that, it's a pretty guitar. Makes me wish I played 8 string more, but six seems to be plenty :)

Help identifying a Fender D8

I've come across a Fender D8 that I could use some help identifying. It's got the string-through trapezoid pick ups, the metal diamonds on front, 3 legs and is the dark walnut finish. I even got the SN - 1129.

Anyone know anything that might help?

Thanks.

String spacing

Hi Steven.

Do you know if the string spacing on this is the same as the 8 string model, or is it wider? I have an 8-string Playboy, and wouldn't mind having a 6 too.

Thanks

I would strongly advise against the price range you're looking in. I had a Flinthill and returned it in a week. The Regals may sound good by themselves, but once you start playing with others, they just can't keep up. Save your money, and headaches, and wait for a Wechter Sheerhorn. These guitars ar...

These are aweome resonators, especially for the price. I got mine about a year ago, and haven't taken my OMI Hound Dog to a jam session since. Someone should snap up this deal.

Any suggestions?

There's one like the middle picture that Rick Alexander posted at a store here locally that they want 899 for. It has its case, but the case is in bad shape. I went and played it after work, and it sounds nice. The strings are loaded througj a tail piece.

Harmonic

Jim,

Ricky's palm harmonic intro should be right. Just do the harmonic w/ your palm on the 15th fret and you're in business.

I'd be interested in buying printed material (tabs and instruction) for the E Major and E Major 7th tunings.

Thanks.
