Great episode, really enjoyed. Mike: Not to derail the subject, am I right to assume to that Raphael namedrops the same Moonlighters you were apart of? Was there any crossover between the two of you? I can give you the basic history as I was around and saw many of their gigs throughout the years......

There was a fellow who used to sell them here on the forum....I haven't seen them here in years......I imagine if you did a search you could find that information.....I bought one years ago and yes, they're gre...

That's gorgeous......I love the Williams keyless system....it is such a breeze to change strings because you do not have to wrap the string.....just pull it tight by hand in a straight line and tighten down the tuning nut.....on my 8 string Williams I have a .080 as my bottom string and the tuning n...

Yes.....that's why I'm not getting into the PSG aspects of it here nor posting my copedant.....but the be...

When I first received the S8 I took it up to Bill's place and we had an afternoon with guitars & effects.....but you can see the difference in size between the two....if I just wanted to haul & set up the guitar without the pedals & pedal bar, it would be so easy to do and just play in n...

Kevin.....there is one and possibly two non pedal consoles that Williams built upon request. Gorgeous guitars. Excel in Japan has certainly built non pedal Jerry Byrd console models as well as a non pedal model with 4 stick shift type levers that change the tuning. I believe that is owned by Lion Ko...

Non Pedal - Pedal Steel Guitar.......Williams S8

I need to preface this thread in hopes of keeping it from being closed and/or moved. What I have done here is blurred the lines, have caused worlds to collide, or perhaps opened up The Steel Guitar Multi-Verse. What I did was to have a pedal steel guitar built to non pedal specifications with non pe...

I was able to see The Ronstadt Revue in Shelby, NC as I mostly live in Asheville these days.....it was wonderful to see Jim as I hadn't seen him in several years and consider him a good friend......The Revue was excellent because the playing was excellent & spot on.....but the real cherry on top...

My vice (well, one of them) is bringing concept guitars, both electric and acoustic to life.....I don't build them, I just annoy builders until they acquiesce.....
