I have had success modifying snare drum stands like so, take the tops and cobb them onto a tall, stable drum stand bottom, reverse the odd arm[3rd] and bend the arms to fit. A thick rubber band for tension/grip of rear arms completes yer rube goldberg/polish lap steel stand, height adjustable. Music...

There is a guy in northern california, whose website is vintage47amps.com, who makes replicas or reproductions of early supro and national amps. I have heard good things and his website will show the beautiful goodies he builds. He should be an excellent resource at least. regards rob

Gee nobody mentioned my favorite, grounding to the gas pipe. I've always wondered how that one didn't burn the house down or blow it up. In the sixties I would play my hot solos in the dark on stage squeezing a welding lighter/sparking device while picking, very dramatic, I am much less dramatic in ...

Oh no, now I can't lift the bar "UP" off the strings let alone put it back "DOWN" . I will still raise and lower it, but not the pitch. I think moving "BACK AND FORTH" on the neck will really clear things up. regards rob

hi. Stew-mac sells a variety of replacement buttons and several threads here describe the fix. I have good luck with drilling out the holes [in reverse] using friction to melt the plastic and squeezing them on immediately. I did about 20 yesterday so I am stocked with spares. regards rob

I did not intend to indicate that this was a done deal, my bad, I meant only to convey my enthusiasm as I had amazingly aquired a basket case double neck [heavily trashed] supro at a flea market that has the needed parts on Saturday. FWIW I have been there with more than a few lap, oops i mean STEEL guitars and cases. baking soda, spread and then vacuumed and sunshine does the case. Mold, however requires the vaporizing of sulfur to kill without damaging old fragile fabric lining and to prevent reoccurance. For the STEEL or SPAN...
