Thank you for that very kind comment Bill. And pleased to hear you like Grand Canyon. That's a very special song to me. It's an incredible place and I'll always be grateful to some very good friends in the US that helped us plan our visit.

dlayne - Used Infinity(with X10's), Emmons PP and Zum steels. All black, of course! :) Into a Telonics FP-100, then a Telonics LeMay or TCA-500 combo. One or two tracks I added my own design Valve Warmer. Brad's Black Box would do a similar job. All effects added within Presonus Studio One (Great DA...

Many thanks John, for those kind words and your encouragement over the years. It really was a journey making the album... Like most steelies, listening to Buddy Emmons inspired me beyond words, and 25 years ago I started learning his version. Over the years, I've messed with it trying different thin...

Hello Neil I know David, he lives just down the road from me, we've recorded a few YouTube's over the years. David produces some fantastic material, but not the tracks I'm looking for, or in the Ray Price style. I'm also looking for MIDI tracks so I can change the key, tempo and re-arrange easily. B...

Many thanks for that Jim. I have had a search and was surprised how few files I found. And the quality of the songs I listened too, wasn't great.

I see Jim Baron has produced some Ray Price BIAB styles. Might check those out.

Ray Price MIDI Files

Looking for a source of Ray Price MIDI file tracks to mess with, if anyone knows where some might be available. Looking for files with a nice straight drum, walking bass and piano groove.

Very sad news... Tony was one of 3 or 4 pedal steel players who lived local to me, who I met when I first started. I recall him turning up at a gig, I’d only been playing steel for a few months and he was a well established player... He must have been cringing at my playing, but he never said a ba...

Hello All I stopped making the Steel Mixer a few years back. The original idea behind the device was improving the quality of the dry signal. I'd noticed, if I plugged my steel directly into an amp, the sound was really nice and defined. When I put a DD2 in line, with the effect applied, yes you had...

Cheers for the replies. Wow, a JJ Cale vibe... I recall the first JJ Cale song I played, 'Call Me The Breeze'. First heard the version sung by Bobby Bare... still so love that version, the little skip in the snare and the clean solos... really hits the spot! JFI - My thinking behind the steel in the...

Hello Kenny I‘ve personally not tabbed out parts from those sessions with David. All of them were just a bit of fun. Most times we’d have no idea what we were going to play until minutes before recording the video. On occasions I’d just be picking up a CD or something and David would say, “g...

Yes, that's right. And yes, I think all the version C combo's have the later algorithm. You start to forget these things as time goes by. Thanks for reminding me Tommy. Hope you're keeping busy at Cherry Ridge. Best M
