Hi Jussi, No two of those Wilhelm amps looked the same...John used whatever he could find to fit what ever type he was building for the customer. Some were piggy-backs w/separate speaker cabinets, some self-contained, even a couple with built-in tape reverb that had more adjustable speeds than a Fer...

At the time i had it, as i recall, the inside neck was high C6th, the center neck was a kind of E13th, and the outside neck was an E6th, just like the low C6th of Jerry Byrd, only tuned up to E. Bob was a great fan of Joaquin Murphy, and i believe he even named one of his children after Joaquin. The...

Where is Bob Murphy's Bigsby?
Does anyone know what ever happened to the Bigsby T-8 that was played on The Louisiana Hayride in the mid 50's by featured steel guitarist, the late Bob Murphy?

Chopped Magnatone on eBay......AGAIN???
Item # 7382273 721 is presented as a D-8 steel guitar. No brand name is mentioned. It appears to me that it is in fact the back two necks of a Magnatone Maestro T-3 that have been chopped off. The Magnatone D-8 Lyric did not have the two pickups per neck, this guitar does. It is interesting that the...

22 1/2 " Scale On Stringmaster T-8???
Does anyone know if Fender produced a Stringmaster T-8 with a short scale? Especially later ones with the "blend" control.

Bigsby D-8 on Ebay
On 10-23-05 the top bid on this steel was $3151.04. In previous listing 10-15-05 top bid was $5604.00. Reserve not met in either case. Why the sharp contrast in price, and what is a "normal" price??? What does this guy want? I haven't a clue. :

Magnatone Quad and Tripple Eight Steels
Anyone had any experience with these? Have heard they have nice tone, but are quite heavy and cumbersome. Have played about every thing else, and would like to try one or both of these. Don't go out to play much now, so portability not a problem. New member would really appreciate any info.

Andre, You will never regret buying this guitar. I have several of these pre-war bakelites, but mine all have tone controls, whitch come in handy for different amps. I also have a Frypan with no tone control. I have had a small box with a tone control made to plug into the frypan, so as not to alter...
