A '78 Pro-II I bought from Tommy Detamore a couple of years ago. Tommy, I still absolutely love this axe. It makes me smile at each gig.

Years ago, I met Jerry at a Marlboro country talent show in San Antonio. At the time, I had one of his mid-70s D10 guitars. He came up, and introduced himself. In the conversation, I did have the presence of mind to ask him where he came up with the idea of putting the rod tuners underneath, instead...

It was thought that if more advanced players would attend and join the jams, the le...

When I got my Sho-Bud, it still had the original case. It was in good shape, but the size made it bulky and unwieldy to move around. I bought a split-case set, and never looked back.

My first exposure to GL was in my mid-teens. My folks had purchased his "Summer Side of Life" album. I nearly wore out that vinyl disc with my non-stop listening. My (and my mom's) favorite cut on that album was "Miguel". The storytelling of that song stuck with me throughout my ...

I have both. I switched to a U12 in 2005. But when I found my Sho-Bud, its tone forced me to relegate the U12 to the role of backup/home guitar. I'm just mindful that E to Eb is RKL on the Bud, as opposed to being RKR on the uni. Sure, the Bud is heavier for gigging. But the sound makes carrying it ...

You don’t have to kill the pest it will die a natural death! The experienced musician’s expectations are a Grande Canyon apart from the Mediocre or Newbie or wannabie attendees. A lot of leg humping, but not a lot of communication, tastefulness or good vibes. Then that haunting sense that you weren...
