No, that's just the way they did it in the 70's. Mine was a 78 and had just a lone 8 last digit. I see my mistake in that I should not have included the 7 in "76" in my first reply.

They changed the serial # scheme a few times but I remember the one for the 70's because I once had a D xxxx 8 Model 27':D'

My advice, download the new free version of Opera http://www.opera.com/free/ I have been using Opera for 7 years and have never had a vulnerability problem. Earlier versons were a bit "Techie" orientated but the latest version is more user friendly for the not so "techie" user.
