Re: E13

That tunings great for rock and blues, especially if you are a guitar player. Open "E" with a couple of extra strings. all the rock licks, duane, derek, and elmore licks are right there. go up three frets for a box type pentatonic that guitar players like. Could you explain this box type ...

Thanks everybody for the tips so far! I tried tuning the low D down to C#, first thing I noticed was the Gene Autry Drifting Along With the Tumbleweed bassline. Pretty cool. With the D there I get Ray Charles - What I Say - that's pretty cool too. And on strings 5 thur 1 and back up to 5 I get some ...

E13 ?'s

Well I think that I've found a tuning that I can sorta relate to, at least as far as a fretted guitar is concerned. It's (lo to hi) E B D E G# B C# E. I'm trying to find some pointers, tips, tricks etc. using this tuning. I've searched all forums but have only found mention of it here and there, mos...

Fender S-10 Student model

I have a Fender S-10 3+1 student model pedal steel guitar with case. The guitar probably needs some minor adjustments. I don't ever seem to have the time that I should devote to it. I'd like to get $500 plus shipping.

tuning options?

While I'm waiting for my 8 string lap steel to arrive, I was wondering if y'all could give me some pointers as to what different tuning options I might have available to me with the guitars current setup and strings gauges. It currently has: 1. E (.15) 2. C (.18) 3. A (.22p) 4. G (.26w) 5. E (.32) 6...

I suppose that I'm mostly interested in rock, blues, folk, old country. Maybe some Hawaiian (depends on the song). The Jerry Byrd course looks pretty interesting as does the Scott DeWitt C6 book. I've also heard of an Arlen Roth video for E tuning but I can't find it anywhere. Man your web site is p...

Does anyone know if the Mel Bay Complete Steel Guitar Method by Roger Filiberto is worthwhile to study. It's an E7 book. No tab. I don't really know how alot of the songs are suppose to sound like. Guess I could Google the songs to get a basic idea, if they're online. Found it at a local Borders. th...

I agree with Danny. I think that it would be pretty neat to have the the best of older technologies along with newer innovations.
Weren't the Fender PS-210 and the Whitney both developed with these ideas in mind.

I thought that the Fender were more than likely better quality all around. I'd like to get one.

I've seen post that the ease of change on the Multi-Kord made it worthwhile, and that some other PSG's have used its concepts.

Multi-Kord vs. Fender

Just what was it about the Fender 400/1000 that made it so much better and popular than the Multi-Kord. If you had the same tuning and changes on both why was the Fender accepted more. Just kind of wondering.

For the time being I'm using the .056-.013 strings and a 17mm sparkplug socket about 2 1/2 x 7/8 at least until I can get something better. But man did I had a heck of a time getting this sucker strung up. Is there some kind of trick to getting the strings through the tailpiece holes and up and over...

First of all my tone bar is still back-ordered along with the starter kit I ordered, so I'm sort of making do with what I can find around the house. A wi...

Thanks for the advice. Is the Artisan similar to the Carter Starter as far as its purpose is concerned? While I'm ordering I suppose I need to get a tone bar, which one? new lap steel opinions for beginner

Just starting out on lap steel. Totally new. How do the Artisan EA-1 and Goldtone compare? Is an shorter or longer scale length better or worse to start out with?

All advice is welcome and needed!!
