I think I am going to keep it

Hi everybody

Thank you for all your offers and advice. Some private messages I got, made me rethink.

I think I rather keep my Fender as an istrument to practice at home and get another single neck instrument to carry around.

Thank you for your help. Best regards.

Thank you for the information. So if somebody would like to trade a single neck lap, we could agree that he/she would pay shipping cost for both guitars, since double necks are more expensive?

Trade: Fender Dual Professional Lap Steel

Some years ago I got a nice Fender Dual Professional lap-steel guitar from the 50-s because I would like to learn to play western-swing and old time country. I really like the sound of this guitar but it turns out, that the instrument is too heavy for me to carry around, since I have problems with m...

Thank you for all your answers. The seller is asking over $1400.- Hhm, maybe a new MSA SuperSlide would be a better deal. I guess I have to think this over.

Would you buy this stringmaster?

I am still looking for my first "professional" lap steel guitar. Now I got an offer for a fender stringmaster from around 1960 (according to the seller). Here are 3 pictures I got. http://www.noetz.li/steelpics/stringmaster1.jpg http://www.noetz.li/steelpics/stringmaster2.jpg http://www.no...

Thank you very much for all your advice. I did not know about Georgeboards and Remington guitars. But I got the impression from what you write that there actually are *new* high quality instruments around. In our band we play western-swing, rockabilly and some old country stuff. Would all of these g...

Advice for good 8-string lap

After getting browsing this forum for some time now. I decided, that my first lap steel guitar should be a single neck 8 string model. Looking around on ebay I realised that these instruments (fender stringmaster) go for more than $1000. Since I made some bad ebay experiences with regular six string...

Thank you for the advice. The pickups of he guitar andy pointed out and the one that I found on ebay seem to be quite different. Would they sound similar?

Thanks again

Advice for first lapsteel

After 20 years of guitar playing I would like to start to play the lapsteel guitar. Since we play Western-Swing and Rock'a'Billy in our band, I would like to buy an instrument, that would be fine for that kind of music. On e-bay I found this guitar: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&...
