There's a great website, LOOKNOHANDS.COM where you can tune a phantom guitar any way you want, it will show you chord patterns and the notes on the pattern if you wish.

That looks like the original version of the National Electric Hawaiian. Mine is a 1935-36, came out of a landfill. You should have seen it prior to restoration. All those years it lay out in the weather, paint gone, fretboard bleached white, one string on, and a tuner missing. Electronics worked, th...

COMPENSATED SADDLES

I never thought about this, but keep in mind a steel guitar is fretless, you approximate bar position. Developing a nice vibrato eliminates intonation problems and the need for compensation!

Interesting discussion! I haven't flown in years, but if I did I'd pack my bar and picks in the suitcase. Wouldn't want to lose a bar; mine were custom made for me by a friend.
Alas; while the morons are busy confiscating an American steel players bar, they'd pass Rasheed right through...

BUZZ ON RESO

It might be the spider rattling against the cone. Take an un-sharpened pencil, posicle stick or such, reach in through a hole in the cover plate near the edge and push on the side of the spider to move it very slightly. That sometimes fixes the buzz...but BE CAREFUL! Dick Blattenberger taught me tha...

AMPLIFYING A DOBRO

I don't have any pickups installed, I always mic. The problem there is that the volume must be turned up high enough so the Dobro will be heard, and you have to learn to "work the mic" so you remain closed to it. my son-in-law, who is an EXCELLENT audio engineer want to try a dual micropho...
