Chris and Casey almost everyone that dealt with Billy would tell you what great deals he would give you with his sales. I never thought he was making much on his sales but evidently he was satisfied with it. He would do anything he could to further the popularity of the pedal steel. Thanks for your ...

I'm sure Billy would really appreciate all the complements you guys have heaped on him. He will be missed sorely by all of us I'm sure. He was certainly fair on his prices on his equipment and other supplies. I've actually seen him go in the hole on some of his sales just to keep a customer satisfie...

Billy Carr, a great steel guitarist from Seminary, Miss. will be missed by all his friends that new him from Bill Staffords Deep South Steel Guitar Convention in Gulport, MS.. Billy was 64 years old and a friend of mine since before he started playing steel. His Dad, Bill Carr was a fine steel playe...

Left Handed players

Hey Sam enjoyed your post. Look guys I've been on both sides of the fence and have found that the only hold back to playing left handed is that the music world is made for right handed people. But if a person feels more comfortable playing left handed I think he should go for it. There's plenty of p...

I'm a left handed player. Played right handed for 7 years. Practiced from five in the evening until three in the morning for 3 months before I could play I Just Destroyed the World (or something like that). My right hand would cramp into a knot and I would run cold water over it to straighten my fin...

Jeffran College October 1982

Just wondering if there's any of my classmates from the October 1982 class at Jeffran College. This is the class that one of our classmates painted the wheat designs on Jeff's U12 Dekely and another of the class's D12 Sierra. Buddy Emmons and Jeff did the concert on Friday night. I taped it all and ...

overtones

Chuck, you have had a lot of good suggestions but there's one I don't think I have seen yet. It appears that you purchased the guitar second hand and it also looks like you have narrowed the overtones to the bridge end of the guitar. In other words one of the suggestions that was given to you was to...

Bill, Thanks so much for all you do for Steel Guitar. You had a great bunch of pickers down there. I met Herby Wallace for the first time and was really impressed by what a friendly couple he and his wife are. I enjoy hanging around with Royce, he's so funny and a great "chicken picker". I...

50, 000 Names

Phred,
if this song offends anyone, I think they just need to move to somewhere where they'll never hear it. The boys that this song was written about had a lot more than their "feelings" hurt.

Thanks for posting it my good friend,

Billy,
I met Tommy for the first time at the show. I enjoyed giving him the blues most of the night. He really has a good sense of humor and a great love for the steel guitar. He isn't trough with his modifications yet. You'll hear a lot more from him I believe.

Billy, I just have to thank you for all the work you and Cowboy put into this show, it was really amazing the way all went on schedule. I'd be playing one of those right now if they built left handed models. I love my left handed Fessenden that Mark did the lacquer work on.
That's a beauty of a guitar, I know your enjoying it.

Reply to A. Roncetti. Yessir. I played right handed for about 7 years but could never pick up any speed so I converted a D-10 MSA SS to left handed. Then converted it to a SD10 Universal with a pad. put me down for two and send me an email or something to let me know when and where to send the money. I'll send mine in advance to help with your out of pocket expenses if you'll email me a price and address. Others might be willing to do the same. This is a great project.
