Yes, he kept the original changer and pickup. I have another double neck ZB and this student model sounds better and is easier to play. Maybe the aluminum cast body contributes to the livelier sound!

Eddie Lange has been the steel player on the latest tour and doing a great job. Great band also, with brother and sister on harmonies. Well worth trying to see them. I saw them in Rockford over the summer and Mo was outstanding.

Red Rhodes was involved with GT amplifiers which is documented in the excellent book by Aspen Pittman:
The Tube Amp Book. I don't know about any connection with Mesa Boogie, but they're wonderful amps, too.

I saw Duke Ching Friday at the Joliet convention.
He did a wonderful set with his triple neck Fender
which was tuned E13, C13 and B11. One song made use of all three necks.

All four CDs are great. The Cavalcade of Guitars is phenomenal. One of the best combinations of musicians to ever play together. Same with It's The First Time. I own a ZB student model and love it. It sounds great and weighs less than my others. It was originally reworked by Tom Bradshaw and I've had some additional work done by Paul Redmond. The guitar is very stable, dependable and stays in tune.
