Steve,
I see Joerg has posted, but a day has passed with no close. If it did not work out, I'm interested. I sent you an email.

Fender Deluxe(pro) 8, Trap. p/u vibration
Hello members. I just purchased a 1951 Deluxe 8 (walnut)with the trapazoid pickup. While playing acoustically, I hear a vibration from the pickup housing. Inside the housing there appears to be a wood block that surrounds the strings. It must have shrunken over the years, so the plucked strings make...

Hi Kelvin, I have to say, I didn't think it would, but after getting the idea from more than one Forum bro (whom had more years at it than me), I gave it a shot and it did help. It smooth'd out the tone quite a bit. But if you you don't like it, no harm done, just pull it out. If you do stuff it, us...

I also have a 37', and my volume pot is very tight. I just leave it as-is, cause I don't want to change anything. I did stuff the inside with terrycloth, which cut down on bad overtones. It now sings deep and clear! What a great guitar. It was my first lap steel. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y10...

Hi Mark and Gary, Mark, thanks for the plug. When I built this kit I had only been playing lap about a year (but guitar for over 40). I had a great time building it and more fun playing it. In this clip I have the Dynalap growling with tube OD, but it can do clean twang to! I can't recommend a bette...

WTB Yamaha XG Works, disk & manual
Looking for XG Works, a Yamaha, synth &
sequencer editing program. Now discontinued.
The last version, 3.0 or 3.07, which will
work with Windows XP. I am working on sequencer backing tracks and the editing
program is a needed part of the puzzle.
Sold for about $80.00 . Any reasonable price
is OK.

Boss DR5 + MIDI + Computer? HELP
I would like to use the DR5 as a writing tool and backing band. There is an editing program that makes programing the DR5 easier thru MIDI connection to a computer. Does this mean I need a MIDI card installed or an external USB interface? Is anyone on the Forum doing this type of thing, that can hel...

1950's & 60's speakers with whizzer cone
Done anyone have a source for info on old
style speakers with whizzer cones? Such
as the EV SP12? Anyone ever trim the
whizzer off at the edge of the dust cap to
roll off some of the highest frequency? I have found you end up with a great speaker
to mate with a bright JBL.

Just to let everybody know. I have installed Superfingers on both necks of my Pro II Custom. This was a great project to get to know how the undercarriage works. Hi Bob... I have to second what Dave said. NOS is the way to go. A bit pricy? yeah, but I have many vintage amps and I find they sound better and last longer than newer production tubes. Steve... Some later model Fenders had holes near the bias adjustment screw. This would be for + and - probes from your test meter, others, with just the set screw, you need a bias meter. It has tube scockets with leads to the meter. The scockets go in between the tubes and the scockets on the amp. I...

Well my superfingers and guide bracket arrived. http://steelguitarforum.com/biggrin.gif I bought these before all the recent posts, so as a newbie, was taking alot on faith. Before I mailed John Coop my old E9 finger set, I took it apart to show what I found... http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y103/...
