Hey Nicholas, I might be into it if you would ship to Canada. Even if it’s a bit more to compensate for international shipping.
Let me know, Gavin

b0b, please close, guitar is sold. Donation forthcoming.

There’s been a few of these up lately. Seems like the asking price has been $1500. It just sits in the closet currently, so if anyone is interested at that price it’s probably a good time for me to move it along. Buyer would have to pay shipping. https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix2203/4759_0A39...

Anyone able to identify this 1/2 stop?

Bought it a long time ago, probably from PSG parts, but don’t see it in their current catalogue. Not using it so was going to move it along, but would be helpful to identify first. Mount reads around 0.38” diameter.

Lol, it is a nightmare travelling with these things. And the uncertainty of travel is exactly why these guys want to get a kit together. Not ideal getting behind a strange guitar, but you sometimes have to.
Good suggestions on everything.
Thanks

All good points, most of which reaffirm my own.
Good call on the volume pedal, I definitely hadn’t thought of that.
I would assume a back line volume pedal would only ever be used in a pinch, which is exactly why a potentiometer based pedal might be a problem.

Thanks for the feedback!

Back line guitar and accessories

Hi all, a friend who works for a back line company is tasked to gear up for pedal steel. They have amps covered, but are in need of a guitar and accessories. Thought I’d get a consensus here on the matter. So a few questions: -S10 or SD10 -3x5 or would 3x4 suffice -Pack a seat necessary/desirable -S...

Carter 1 1/2” 3/32” nylon tuners

Can’t seem to find any, Al Briscoe didn’t have them when I last checked and I suspect there’s no one currently making them.
Thanks in advance if anyone has any they’re willing to part with, or knows where I can find some.

Bakelite Bars

Was playing around with a beat up old Bakelite bar that came with an old guitar recently and wanted to find one in better shape. Anyone making them these days? Can find zero info out there. As for plastic bars, I’ve got one of Basils but want something a bit softer as well.

Yeah, mine was definitely not coming out. Got a replacement pedal and new ball connectors in the post today. Thought it’d be worth it to change them all out just in case. I suspect this is a one time issue on this guitar, but anytime I’m in a situation where one thing goes it eases my mind to ju...

This’ll also give me the opportunity to grab some parts for the Eb to E change on the second string that I wanted to try out. Fate? We’ll go with that since it’s better than being annoyed with the thing breaking.

That’d be an idea if the part wasn’t available. I actually hadn’t come across that concept before. Looking at Helicoil kits though, it appears a replacement pedal wouldn’t be much more and I’m assuming would be more solid.

To me it seems like it'd been over tightened causing strain on the area that broke. Gave extracting it another try this morning and am pretty close to giving up since the drill is skating around now and marring the pedal threads. Ill replace the pedal and the ball attachments on the other pedals as ...

I was able to drill straight into the centre of the remaining bolt, but it seems pretty fused in there. I do have experience with this kind of stuff and it’s not looking too promising. Luckily up here in Canada Al Briscoe has a supply of Carter parts. Probably have to replace the pedal. I ended up...
