Carvin CM-95 guitar info needed

Recently I happened to get the Carvin electric guitar called CM-95B. It is a Les Paul shaped guitar made in 1975 featuring great AP-6 single coil pickups and a Bigsby tailpiece. The sound is unbelievably nice and twangy. Anyway I would like to know if there are any albums by any musicians featuring ...

That is so unique, exotic, creative, and superb playing Roy. You did enhance the Japanese Chinese (Shina) exotic melody. As always I have to take my hat off to you for your creativeness. The tune was written during 1930s in Japan and was originally sung by Hamako Watanabe from Yokohama, Japan. Years...

I have read somewhere that the American (Capital?) record company didnt like the Japanese title, so they chose somewhat cathy Japanese word Sukiyaki. They misspelled as Sukiyaka on the record label though. I like China Nights as well as Sukiyaki.<font size="1" color="#8e236b"><p ...

Please do not forget another Japanese tune that Roy recorded titled HANA. Those Roys versions of Sukiyaki and Hana are superb, and are as great as originals in my opinion. Hana was originally recorded by Okinawan group Champloose and Ry Cooder in Hawaii in 1980, since then the song has been recorded...

Your cats favorite music?

Do your cats have any favorite music? I am a big cats lover and have three cats. If they do not like the music I am listening to, I will immediately use a headphone. If they are sleeping on my steel, I will wait to play the steel until they wake up. If they liked Teisco sound better than Fender, I w...

Columbia used to make electric guitars (and keyboards) during 60s as long as I know, but did not know they were making steels. I guess the plastic pickup cover is a strong evidence that it is Japanese made. Below is a Teisco.

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a338/kuni92/woody.gif According to Sugino Nob website, the lapsteel above is not Supro/Valco product. The brand name is Woody. He happened to have a damaged Airline steel and had to transfer the pickup to the new body in order to keep the pickup alive. The result w...

I agree with Steinar. I have been so amazed by his steel sound (Gibson, Supro, Superior, & etc.) The music is very pure and driving, and he is a real gentleman. He reduced the price of the CDs especially for people outside Japan!

I think the steel on ebay Mr. Fernandez mentioned is Arai Diamond (Aria Pro) made in Japan possibly during 60s. They no longer make any steels. Anyway, I am trying to get some information from Fender Japan. <font size="1" color="#8e236b"><p align="center">[This message ...

I too believe it is a Fender Japan steel, but is much more expensive than they sell in Japan. DLX8 should be more or less $1400 in Japan. DLX6 should be $200 cheaper than DLX8. The photo below is Fender Japan steels.

Here is an old Guyatone ad. Steel guitars must have been yet mainstream. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a338/kuni92/tokyosounds.gif Late 70s Guyatone catalog still showed steels, but it seems that those steels were not well advertised anymore. By the way Supro-like electric guitar is called LG-88...

Guyatone & Teisco

I would like to share Japanese steel photos, they should be rare. Again, some photos were on Yahoo Japan Auction. Please take a look. Arigatou. Guyatone. The pickups look like Teisco Gold Foil, but I believe they are different. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a338/kuni92/guya_double.gif Guyatone. ...

Weird Japanese Steels / Teisco & etc

I thought a few of the forum members would be interested in seeing wired/bizarre Japanese steels photos. Most of the pictures are from Yahoo Japan Auction since we do not have EBAY in Japan no longer. I hope some people enjoy the photos. This is one of my favorite Teisco steels, a very nice Japanese...
