John...if you bear any personal resemblence to your Cousin Jody avatar, you must be one helluva' dobro picker and lap steel player too.
I promise not to invite you over to my house for dinner especially when we're havin' corn-on-the-cob! {:-)

Yeah Lee...E-flattener works for me so I guess is IS an acceptable word. Marty's B-bender Tele may weigh a ton but I'll bet it doesn't weigh much more than a Gibson D-18 top tension Mastertone 5-string. There are two things you start noticing about a 5-string banjo player who's been around a while.....

Saw the video clip Joachim, 'ya gotta' pay attention to catch it but it shows a good view of Waylon turning the Scruggs peg. Lee, I think Marty Stuart plays the original Clarence White b-bender telecaster. It's interior mechanism housed in the body of the guitar has spring levers that bend the "...

Gotta' Question About Waylon's Telecaster
I watched a YouTube video on my big screen smart TV last night of Waylon doing an Austin City Limits gig and noticed something I'd never seen before. Waylon kept fiddlin' with something on the back side of his Telecaster headstock and after awhile it looked to me like it was a tuning key of some sor...

Thanks for the encouragement Chris but my request to close and lock this thread to sell this instrument with all the no-charge upgrades and taking a downward hit on what I paid for it still stands. I'll give it a rest for awhile and maybe try another forum to sell it. Appreciate your thoughts, thank...

Because it's apparent that there is absolutely NO interest in the guitar I offered for sale and members of the forum failed to recognize its value at a fair price, I'm asking that b0b close and lock this thread. If you're interested in a resonator guitar, I would recommend you buy Corey's maple Bear...

E-mail question on Legend Cone answered. Paul Beard finally developed this new triple-spun cone that is labor-intensive to produce but delivers the optimal in sound when installed in a resonator guitar. It's thinner than all other cones, triple-spun with concentric rings from the outter lip to the i...

Beard Mahogany R-Body
What if I told you this would be the last resonator guitar you'd ever have to buy? This is the Beard mahogany R-body with the most wanted, useable upgrades that make it a world-class resonator guitar. It's the Tim Graves signature model with the latest Beard designed triple-spun Legend cone, Planet ...

You get the cigar Tom...looks like a perfect match...thanks for solving the mystery. That is some serious bucket list of 6 and 8 string lap steels you posted Tom. Do you build them all? Gonna' take my time and examine every one of them and if I have any questions would it be OK to give you a holler?

Here are some pics of the bridge/tailpiece on my 6-string Strat p/u lap steel I need help in trying to identify. Did a search on the net, came close with a Gibson- made electric guitar bridge but not an exact match. The one in the pix has brass rollers under each string and black fine tuning knobs o...

Wow Bill, I'm really impressed with how great that Strat lap steel looks, thanks for posting pix. Necessity truly is the mother of invention especially comining from your hands. I'll bet its gonna' sound outta' this world once its finished. I have a 6-string lap with Strat pu's and controls and I ca...

I have a sneaking suspicion the 3-Strat pickup, 5-way switch, volume and 2-tone controls would make it sound more like a psg sans pedals than the old single coil pu's in the old Gibsons and Supros. I think you'd have a much wider choice of shadings and voices to play around with on a 6-string lap th...

Price: $67 includes shipping. Not sure if the Strobo Clip has E-9th tuning tempermants which I assume are for psg. I do know it'll precisely tune just about every stringed instrument and has the Buzz Feiten feature for tuning electric guitars. Maybe someone more astute than I can answer the E-9th qu...

Lap Steel Pickup Question?
Without resorting to an archive search can anyone remember if there was a Forum discussion on whether anybody used Stratocaster pickups on a lap steel?
If so, what kind of sound did they get from it?
