John,

I never got the tablature. I left a comment and sent you my email address yesterday. Is there something else I need to do?

Thanks,

I'll confess I have not yet read thru all 3 pages of posts in this thread. Not yet, but I hope to. But I am most happy that the original poster brought up this matter of music theory because it's a subject I'd love to master.... My sister is a wonderful piano player, but she told me the other day th...

Why does my "ON" switch go both ways?

----- I hope there's somebody here that appreciates an untypical question of curiousity once in a while, maybe if only for entertainment... :) My question is this: I've got a sort of large Evans Amp with a metal switch on the back. The "off" position is neutral (straight out) while pushing...

You have all given me a lot of food for thought. I wish I had another lifetime to just learn all the theory/strings/particulars....

But this is a good start, and will also help others looking for their first strings as well! So keep sharing your most valuable opinions! :D

I appreciate all the string opinions given here and they're fun to read. Keep them coming!

Now speaking of tunings... evidently the strings I ordered are best for the C6 tuning. But can they also be used for other tunings? And would the tablature look different?

----- I'm mainly playing Gospel songs and it's a short scale... 22 3/4... Those Scotty's strings look pretty good and the price is normal. The size I needed instead of the 7 string is the GHS Custom C6th- 6 Lap Steel Guitar Strings Gauges 15-36W - 2 Pack. You saved me from a 'detail' mistake which I...

I found these on Amazon and they get good reviews.... GHS Custom E7th- 6 Lap Steel Guitar Strings Gauges 15-38W - 2 Pack

Price is right for a 2-pack too.

Thanks for your suggestions. If somebody uses the GHS strings let me know if you like them.

I just bought an inexpensive little 6-string lap steel and need to know which strings are the best for C6 tuning? And can they be bought on Amazon? :D

----- I forgot to identify it. Yes, Mullen is a good name in this business, for sure. I love this guitar and hope to get it fixed up real soon because I can't find even one tab for a good song that doesn't use any knee levers at all. That's reduced me to having to study chord charts instead and you ...

----- I won't pretend to know anything about the geography of the underside of a steel guitar but yes, I've thought of adding something to the lever to make it closer to my leg. Someone did say that the tilt adjustment was supposed to move that lever left or right. I can't think this is so complicat...

What a really special song... it's now my new favorite. If you like children singers go listen to Billy Gilman on iTunes before his voice changed. "One Voice" and "Christmas Classics" are nice.....

Jack... in the Denver area. I'd be happy to help, but it would take you half the time to drive to Flagler than down here. Contact the factory; they're most accommodating and can make it perfect. Jack, there was a time when I would have taken you up on that offer, because I love to drive. But these ...

I don't suppose there's a way to put a red circle around the part you're talking about in the photo, is there? The bottom of this guitar is foreign to me. I just laid it on its side to get the pics.

Thanks Lee!

Thanks for this, Guy. After all, if you gotta do scales they might as well be harmonized!

I'll surely practice this as soon as I can find my F pedal. (Working on that now)
