One more little note about the Little Nashville Opry. Investigators agree that the fire was arson, a total loss estmated at three million dollars. They are requesting passers-by with any info at all to contact them. What a loss to muscians and to all who have loved for the last thirty-five years, to...

Little Nashville Opry

While there are no 'set and dried' plans on the rebuilding of the Opry [destroyed by fire on Sept 19th]that have been released, there are always rumors around here.....like the last one we heard [strictly a rumor now] the possibility of the Little Opry and the Monroe Bluegrass Venue at Bean Blossom ...

Rerun?

We heard yesterday on RFD that Vern passed away 'last night' and that a memorial would be aired today... with Willie Nelson. He said that Vern had suffered a stroke three weeks ago.

The treasured Old Opry Music.

Most of us will agree, I think, that the Opry is not for us anymore, we have to hear so much music that we don't want to hear to get to enjoy one song we want to hear! Do you ever wish the new group had just built themselves a new building and let us keep our style music at the Grand Old Opry buildi...

We too, were big fans and admirers of The great John Huey, a fantastic muscian and a fine person. He leaves an empty space that no one can fill. We came to know his wife also and consider her a friend. She became interested in our tiny [believe it or not]seven ounce Schnauzer. We would like her to e...

~~ Very Old Fiddle ~~

Duane has just been handed down his late Grandfather's fiddle. Being a 'steel man', he knows little about fiddles. Even tho he will hand this instrument down to the next generation, he is curious to know it's worth. It is marked 'Antonio Stratavarious Ceremonial....made in Germany' It is obviously v...

~~Sessions 500~~

I've always loved the sound of the Sessions 500's and have two of them, but their weight is such a drawback! Now, I have built a cabinet for the electronics head only and kept the speakers cabinet the same [with spealers only]They are so much more manageable now. If anyone is interested, send your e...

Pets and the Clarion

Has anyone had the experience of going to the Indy Gospel Steel Show [May 5 & 6] and taking their pet and staying at the Clarion?
Would you advise taking your pet.....or leaving it at home?
How far between 'Pet Rooms' and the Steel Guitar entertainment room? Thanks for any info. The McKays
