Teles, Strats, Gretsches, 335's, big jazz boxes, they all have good useful sounds for country. That's why it helps to own at least one of each, and decide what to play based on the feel of the song :-) You can get a very good solid jazz sound out of the neck position on a Tele as well, especially wi...

Standard notation chart for e9th neck.

Does anyone have a chart, ideally a pdf of all the notes on the E9th neck in standard music notation?

I am working on sight reading for the steel.

If you have a Line 6 POD, you can plug headphones into that as well.

As far as playing less exciting stuff, like scales, picking & blocking exercises. I'm applying something that my fiddle teacher taught my when I was knee high to a grasshopper. First thing I do when I start practicing for the day is to nail that stuff for at least the first two blocks of practic...

That's pretty much what I do. I'll work on steel for about 30 minutes straight, then go take a 15 minute break, then go back to it. Alot of times during the break, I'll pick my Tele and work on some lead stuff, or sometimes I'll walk over to the computer and check out what the fellas are saying on T...

You could always get a nice big "Fender" decal on place it on the front of a more modern PSG that has the desired configuration of pedals + knees. Boom, problem instantly solved in true Texas "Git er Done" style.. Heh.. Heh.. :-)

Ha.. Ha.. :-) I just started playing fiddle when I was a little kid, and having my left-hand on the neck felt good.. So I've played everything right-handed since then.. I do shoot off the right shoulder as well. Every wonder why some lefties just have to play left-handed, and others like us are okay...
