Joe- Yeah, just like I said, Moon sure played his butt off on that session!! I guess I was just starting another one of those good, steel guitar conspiracy theories or something like that. I got to back Mr. Hamilton several times when I was with Bill Anderson and I know one thing for sure, he really...

Guys, I hate to even say this but Joe, do we have confirmation that this is Ralph for sure on these cuts? I really do hate to even mention it because we are all missing him so much right now but I have never heard of Ralph doing any sessions in Nashville before he was with Waylon. That doesnt mean t...

Yes Roger that was Curly. Classic stuff. The LP copy I have does not have a date on it, but I'm guessin like '63 or '64 I believe. That album, The Luckiest Heartache In Town, was done towards the end of Hank's Capitol career.

I do believe that Emmons was the first and I think it was Pins and Needles. Lloyd was doing it very early on though too but in a different way. He would raise his F# a half step like he always did and then bend it the rest of the way with his ring finger behind the bar! Made for a very cool tonal di...

Behind Closed Doors- probably Hargus "Pig" Robbins' most classic work. And he is very much alive and well, and would be a wonderful interview. Pig was a part of the "Nashville Cats" series at the Country Music Hall of Fame a few months ago. In this series they have interviewed so...

It's a very good overview of the work that Lloyd did for Little Darlin and captures him in right in the thick of of his prime, which he's still in really I guess.:)

Alot of very valid thoughts here. My biggest complaint has always been that sometime in the very late 70's, the country music industry decided to quit marketing to and making records for the sole country music audience. Dont get me wrong, there were some fine country records made during the 80's, bu...
