For Sale - GFI SD 12

I bought this guitar as a project 7 or 8 years ago. It's NOT a universal tuning. I set it up as an extended c6th. The pedals are standard 8,7,6,5,4 with one knee lever. It has 1" extended legs. I have a mess of rods and bell cranks so you can set it up pretty much any way you want. I can no lon...

I'm Stumped! (Deferred Procedure Calls)

Something called DPCs (Deferred Procedure Calls) are punching holes in my MP3 playbacks. I can watch Process Explorer and everything's cool until the DPC number suddenly jumps from 1.5 to 13.5 for a second or two and scrambles the audio output. I've tried everything from changing sound cards to chan...

Passwords - Why The Asterisks?

There may in fact be a good reason for it, but it just bugs me that I can't see my own passwords as I'm typing them. Being the typing whiz that I am, it sometimes takes a few tries to get it right. Is there some way to turn that off?

Jay, I bought a desktop about three weeks ago that came with XP Media Center on it. There's something very weird about that version of XP. The computer gave me all sorts of trouble about loading device drivers and would eventually refuse to even acknowledge that a driver was loaded. I won't mention ...

Been a ham since 1963. Present Callsign - WF3M. I used to be very active in DXing and CW contesting, now mostly yapping on the local 2 meter repeater (147.21 Pottstown, PA) during drive time.

One last thing. Click on the little button that says "Import from OE6 store directory" in the Import Wizard dialog box. That has something to do with the identity number assigned by Outlook. You don't want to import the identity number from the old computer. Thanks for all the input, guys....

I figured it out. Outlook Express doesn't like "Read Only" files. I copied all the files to a temporary folder, made sure they weren't "Read Only" and Outlook Express imported all of them.

Outlook Express Messages

I'm trying to transfer all my Outlook Express messages from my old computer to my new one. I copied all the relative .dbx files to a cd, but can't get Outlook to import them. What am I doing wrong?

Wiz - I thought all computer manufacturers and builders were required to give you the original system disc for your computer. They all seem to get away with the "restore" disc BS. I had the same trouble with my Sony Vaio laptop and had to buy a copy of Win XP to get around exactly the same...

I junked my Inkjet printer and bought a cheap laser printer and have never looked back. Most of my printing is technical drawings and schematics. The few color photo prints I make, I can get done at the local drug store for a couple bucks and I don't have to fight with a color printer any more.

Mark, I'm 6'-6" and getting enough leg room under a steel has always been a problem. I have a GFI SD-12 and the way the legs are constructed, you can't use a lift kit. You have to get another set of legs and rods which is no big deal, but if you ever want to sell the guitar then the new owner w...

Bengt-
Am I missing something? I just picked up a Carter with a PF pedal in the number 4 slot. You said you lower the Es together with the PF pedal. That's no different than just raising the Es and leaving everything else alone. It's a diminished chord. Why go to all that trouble?

Outlook Express Renames Photos - Why?

I don't like sending photos as attachments to emails because a lot of people won't open them for security reasons so I insert them into the body of the email. For some reason, OE renames the photo files with some goofy label that makes no sense at all. Any ideas on how to stop this annoying little f...
