Nut/Bridge Query
I have an 8 string lap steel. The nut appears to be aluminium, so does the bridge. Aluminium being a poor conductor of sound. Would changing both to bone or brass enhance the sound, even though it is an electric instrument? What material are your lap (or pedal) steels made from?

Does the material ---(bone/aluminium /brass/ wood etc.)--- used for the nut/bridge of a lap steel have any effect on tone? Have any members preferences? experienced differences?

Can anybody help?
I'm looking for an 'Hawaiian'style backdrop---quite large---something that will last (not thin paper)--and can be taken down and used time & time again.Does anybody know who sells such an item?

Mark---I was thinking of the floor type units. Possibly the Boss ME-20 which contains a number of effects. No reverb though but tremolo---is reverb the same thing as tremolo?
