Peter....What a smart idea! I thought it was too light also and followed your lead. I found that a penny roll works great for those of us in the USA. Ya gotta use the machine rolls with the rolled ends....the old manually rolled penny rolls are a bit tight and sloppy. The weight is much better now a...

So it's been about 3 months since I started subscribing to William's lessons. I look forward to them and can see the progress I have made.

I think it is a very worthwhile endeavor and folks should check it out.

Here is more food for thought.......great article on how to practice. It is from a bass forum but is applicable to any instrument. Mark Morton is a phenomenal orchestral double bassist and teacher. I was fortunate to have him as a mentor and teacher at bass camp. http://archive.basssessions.com/oct0...

William Litaker lessons

I started playing in 1980 and took a few Jeff Newman, Buddy Emmons, Herby Wallace seminars. First paying gig was "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" at the Gateway Theater on Long Island and I went on to play that show for theater groups on Long Island over the next 6 or 7 years. I never bec...

This is a decent unit for a fair price. Even most diehard Behringer-haters grudgingly admit that it is a capable unit. I use it with Cubase 4 with no problems. It is the best bang for the buck out there for control surfaces.

Danny, Thank you. I think we all wanted this guitar to be a testament to the late, great Duane Marrs! I felt that if it was carrying the Marrs name then it needed to be properly restored. It always played superbly even after 35 years but Bobbe, Mike and the guys took it to a new level and they deser...

Marrs Rebuild by Steel Guitar Nashville

I just wanted to share these pictures of the superb rebuild on my Marrs D-10 done by Bobbe and Mike at SGN, with help from Dan and cabinet refinishing by Don Woods. The top picture is original, the rest post-renovation. This is Marrs #0005 which was around 12 years old when I got it and I have now h...

Hi Dave, I'm a big fan of the Tech 21 amps. I have a Trademark 60 and a Trademark 10. I have used both for guitar, mandolin, bass and lap and pedal steel. When we play out, I use the direct out and plug into our PA system for sound reinforcement. In smaller venues, I tend to use the 60 alone with st...

Been using the Boss GT-5 primarily with guitar and lapsteel. It has a pretty good Leslie effect, decent monophonic synth effects as well as a whole host of other effects. When I use the acoustic guitar COSM effect with the lap steel, it imparts a very nice tonal quality - sweeter than a lapsteel, ma...
