David got it - Something heavey, but softer would seem to be the thing - I only use bars made of German silver, for pedal steel guitar and lap steel guitar in different sizes. I get them customized from a friend who ownes a lathe. They produce a very rich and mellow sound with much sustain, and they...

Nuremburg is a town in southern Germany. The correct spell is "Nürnberg" - famous for its sausages - not to be associated with steel guitars.

Thanks Rick, it appears as if you are the only person that uses the N112 for non pedal steel guitar. I am interested in the N 112 and the Evans amps because i can get them in Germany with 230 Volts and they are not backbreaking heavy.

Peavey N112 and Evans amps for steel guitars without pedals?

Does anyone play his Fender Stringmaster through a Peavey Nashville 112 or an Evans amp? What are your experiences with these amps?

Ritter makes excellent gigbabags for headless electric guitars. These bags fit perfect most lap steel guitars. I use one for my Georgeboards and my Fender Deluxe (without the legs). The product code is RCG700-HE and it is $ 51.90 .Look at www.ritter-bags.com

I would tune it 12th fret of a C6 pedal steel guitar with a G on top because it is half size of a real guitar. It makes a nice practice- and travel guitar especially if you like Don Helms tunes. I think I´ll build one for myself but only with 8 strings.

I can recommend Henry K. Allen´s Hawaiian Steel Guitar Book of Songs. It comes with 2 CDs. Not exactly a bargain - 75 USD - but you get 17 tastefully arranged Hawaiian songs with musical notation tablature and chords . Look at www.henrykallen.com
