Bob was extremely helpful to me. He sent me a pickup for my Sierra U12 that I recently purchased from someone else...at no charge just because I said on the forum that I wasn't happy with my tone! I saw bOb in California a couple of years back at a little club he was playing at. I met with him and h...

I was told on the Fender forum, that the date of MFG can sometimes be found under the tuner dish on a piece of paper. If the guitar has been taken apart and worked on it might be missing.

When playing an extended run, or triplets as long as you are comfortable getting the middle finger in there to get the next note quick enough and accurate, I don't think it matters. For slow tunes it really doesn't matter at all.

I bought this guitar about a year ago or so and haven't played it much. it has been fine, but I'm now making some tuning changes. String 1 was originally tuned to rise from F# to G. Now I want it to go up a whole step. That's where the problem was discovered. Also string 10 was originally tuned to g...

Excel Superb - Is there a trick to tuning knee levers?

I have an Excel Superb and I'm having trouble tuning the knee levers. After I finish tuning the high F# and the D string levers, the open string is then out of tune. I'm holding the levers in position when I adjust the rods. I can't find any info on this on the Excel website or in a general google s...

Good exercises for sure. 3 finger repetitive roles are always good for building strength and coordination. I think if you just get back to playing in general, you'll get your finger back in shape. Everyday!

With Bandlab, I conduct a latency test prior to recording, and the track is recorded in sync and sounds just fine. Then after I do some further editing on completely different tracks and save them, I play the recording back and tracks that were once synced up nicely are now out of sync. If I try to ...

I just finished a song on Bandlab, and it was frustrating. The editing process is not user friendly and it got to the point where after making and edit, other tracks went out of sync. I downloaded the free Presonus Studio One 4 last night so we'll see.

You're right Jack, a higher quality pre amp and interface was the answer. The new Behringer mic is the icing on the cake.

Jim, I got a Behringer C-1 mic with a Tube ultragain mic500 pre amp USB interface. I layed down a couple of tracks with it and it is very nice. Crisp and clean!

I'm trying to lay down some steel tracks and some lead guitar. My son emailed me some tracks he recorded on BandLab. The 1/4" USB on the Amazon link is out of stock, but I get what you're saying. One of the problems I have seen with recording direct is that if reverb or delay is added after the...

Thanks Jim after what you said, I think I need to try a more sensitive mic. I've already been monkeying around with every level there is without success. Weird because I've used the SM58 with my old Fostex digital 4 track without much issue.

My son just downloaded Bandlab on to his I phone and emailed me the track to put steel on. It works well for him, but I'm having trouble adding my tracks on my laptop. I can't seem to get high volume levels without cranking it up high, and then there is humming and hiss.

I'm using Windows 10 with BandLab. I have a Sure SM 58 with a Polsen XLR interface plug and play. I cannot get good recording volume without cranking the Windows settings all the way up, but then I get a lot of hum and hiss. The sound comes through the headphones okay. Any suggestions? Yes James, the only setting for me is the clean channel. I pretty much stay with digital delay with some reverb. I had an issue with it that was easily solved, you can see my other post in here the electronics section.

Vox VT 40 amp is very nice.

I recently picked up a lightly used Vox Vt 40+ and have to say it is really nice. Very small and very light...perfect for practice and tiny, tiny gigs. Built in effects with pedal. I use a Goodrich Matchbox with my Zumsteel Encore. It sounds outstanding. Cheap, very small and ultra light.

Nice case in point bOb. There are plenty of players with a boat load of levers and pedals that would be happy to play like that.
