Thanks for the info. Been kicking myself for missing your January performance in Nashville, so I'm happy to get another chance so soon. Looking forward to the 26th.

So sorry for your loss, Mr. Green. I can't imagine how this loss must feel but you clearly have many relatives, friends, acquaintances and strangers lining up to walk with you in your grief. May you find some comfort and peace in that.

Thanks for the info and link, Martin. I'm not familiar with Jandek's work, but I know the name from reading that one of my favorite bands (Low) recorded one of his songs for a tribute album a while back. I'll have to check him out.

Here's another thread about the album. I for one can't get several of the melodies out of my head. (Certainly not a bad thing!)

I purchased the VS-II right after getting my first pedal steel, so I haven't had the experience of tuning this guitar without it. But after tuning 6-string guitars with other blinky LED or needle tuners, I can say that this is a much improved method. It's very easy to tell when your getting close to...

I recently purchased Mel Bay's Deluxe Pedal Steel Guitar Method used from a forum member, and it actually includes some of this basic note-reading instruction for the E9 neck. It starts off as Bobby Lee suggests, on the 3rd and 8th frets. This might serve you better than a piano book. Looks like the...

I recently purchased a (barely) used 112 on consignment at Broadway Music for a great price. I'm very much a beginner, so I can't speak to amp comparisons, but I really like what I'm hearing from this Nashville 112. Starting out, I had been running my LDG through a "Twin" setting on a digi...

I agree... this album is pretty darn phenomenal. I'm thrilled it finally saw the light of day in an official form. Must admit I was a bit tentative when I heard it was all going to be rerecorded for the release (not compiled from the old '67 tapes), but those fears were totally unfounded. And I rece...

As a PC & Mac user who is growing increasingly frustrated with his PC, I agree with your Mac leanings. The usual rule of thumb is to buy as much computer as you can afford at the time. I'm not up on the latest Apple models so I'll leave the ibook vs. powerbook and Ghz questions to others. But wh...
