Hiss on new Twin Reverb
I dicided 9 months ago to replace my old 72 Twin Reverb through a brand new one. It's this edition with color caramel ordered from England.
My old on is super quiet while the new one has a considerable hiss. Tried everything without succes. Is it possible to eliminate the hiss?

B3 Organ devices
Seems there are two brand new rotary devices on the market: the "Rotosphere (Hughes and Kettner)" and the "Strymon Lex"
Does these work for steel? Any better ideas for a Leslie / B3 organ effect?
Thnx

Metal Thumb Pick
As we all know, plastic thumb picks tend to wear thinner and thinner the longer one use it. For shure much quicker than a metal thumb pick. I wonder why the metal pick is not standard for steel players. What speaks against it? Sound? Feeling? Not comfortable to wear?

Detuned lever release
E9th neck on an Emmons ll: When I release my RKL which lowers my e's to e flat it does not return in tune accurate. For that I have to move a bit the lever that makes e to f. I have tried different bell crank whole positions and I turned the finger spring more to the endplate. The problem remains. I...

Hi Mickey, I live nearby Zurich. that's 300 km from Geneva still in Switzerland. If you can make it there, I'm gonna show you this wonderful town. It's built round a lake, has a nice old town part from the early middle ages and great restaurants. Besides that I have a little reharsal room with 2 Emm...

Lighting on stage
As we all know, stages can be very dark for us steelers. Especially if the spotlight is directed to the singer.
I'm curious what lighting system for the steel guitar you recommend. Most of my lights either dazzle the audience or myself
thx for help

I have an Emmons II (All pull) My RKL lowers both e's to e flat on the E9th neck. But the lower e flat does'nt go back to a precise e. I have tried various rod travel lengths. Does that have any technical connection? It did'nt solve the problem either. I also don't understand why I can correct this ...

To short rod travel
I have an Emmons Legrande ll. On the C6 neck I put a short rod on my RKR to get my 8th string from A to Bb. But the 4 whole bell crank doesn't provides enough travel to create a half tone. Are extra long bell cranks available? Any better ideas?

Need Info about shipping charges
What are the regular shipping costs for 4 Rubber feets, 2 Sets of Strings and 50 tuning nuts to Switzerland (Europe)
Bobbe S. charges $65. That's more than the merchandise cost. What different ways of shipping in the US are available? What is DHL?
Thnx for Information

String noise like a Sitar
On my C6 neck I have an up lever which raises the third string c half a tone. The open string sounds normal. As soon as I push the lever the sring starts to make a strange noise like a sitar. I replaced the string, replaced rods, bell cranks, nuts, I removed the roller to lubricate it,the sitarsound...

Pedals difficult to press
I have two Emmons and by comparing the pedal press
one is much more difficult, all of them evenly. What springs are responsible for the sum of the the press resistance? Even Removing the spring at the end of the pedal Rods does'nt help. Has anyone exchanged his springs to lighter ones?
Thnx for help

Which pocket amp / headphone amp is suitable for steel? I need also an aux input for Rh tracks.
I have tried different standard guitar amps. They all sound thin.
I'm shure this topic has been covered already. Thnx for related threads.

I go with Alan. A self tuning steel will hardly find buyers. Even at the same price. I think most steelers love the mechanical parts and also the opportunity to replace anything by themselves. Just imagine a (maybe) coming development in 50 Years: Single Neck Steel is connected to the Notebook wirel...
