Good song. I found a picture of them on the Internet, and the guitarists are playing Telecasters through Marshall stacks. :D

I sampled some bro country videos on YouTube just to get a feel for what the music is like. I don't mind the music (very guitar oriented rock, which I like). :D

However, the phoney southern drawls and the lyrics really grated on my nerves. :x

Unfortunately, the 120 bass piano accordion has carried the stereotype of being a 'polka' instrument for many decades. But in the hands of players such as Van Damme and others who plays in different genres, it can be a wonderful sounding instrument.

Vinyl is making a somewhat comeback. Many new Albums are being put out in Vinyl. Many consider Analog and Vinyl recordings superior to Digital. Many recording studios have some analog (tape) recording capability. I don't miss the late 1970s. That was a time when musicians used very expensive equipm...

You would be surprised at the amount of pop, pop, crackle, crackle can be found on cd's. Run one thru a good noise reduction program and it will amaze you how many pop's etc. it has removed. Records that have been cared for and played on a good player with a good needle are not overly noisy. Worst thi...

Not Joplin's version.

But it could be performed as a country song. The melody and lyrics sound country to me.

I have the Coastline S6 which has the same nut width. I don't know about the picking hand, but I like the slightly wider nut width for my fretting hand. If you play with your thumb you might like the wider string spacing.

If I was a country picker and I was looking for a Tele, I'd get the 1969 Thinline version with the natural mahogany body and the white pearl pickguard (like the Squier Classic Vibe version pictured in this thread). But it would have to be fitted with a Bigsby vibrato. Fender did make a few Thinlines...

Now bagpipes; that's sort-of an intriguing instrument. It might even beat out banjo and accordion for kookie-ness. After all, my last name is Sutherland. To my ears, bagpipes sound much better when there are several pipers playing together. The sound of a single set of pipes grates on my nerves. Ba...

The topic that never goes away

The state of mainstream country music - the stuff that gets played on commercial radio and music videos on TV. But seriously, if you think the older music was better, can you list some hit songs that exemplify what you think is 'good' country music? I'll start with mine. I put together a list of son...

If I happen to hear any new country music it seems like a good many male vocalists are trying to sound like Dwight Yoakum or Randy Travis. I might be imagining things, but since those two hit the scene there haven't been many male country vocalists that I can stand listening to.

Judging by the content of this thread, it seems like the younger country artists are divided into two camps: male artists appear to be gravitating more toward rock music and female artists appear to lean more toward traditional country music. :?:

When I do home recording I avoid compression (except for my vocal tracks because my voice sounds too thin as is). And when I 'master' everything I try to keep the volumes of all songs on the album fairly low. Wave file editors work great in adjusting the overall volume of each song.
