My prayers are with Teresa and the rest of Reece's family. I was very fortunate to have been able to study the steel guitar with Reece, and to have been his friend. I will miss him.....

Gary - I sent you an email, thanks. Danny, their website says they are temporarily shut down, and have only a few left over bars for sale. Hopefully Gary's is the right kind, if not I will try contacting tribotone directly rather than through their website. Appreciate your responses....I was real bu...

Nicked my Tribotone bar

I dropped and nicked my favorite bar - the Tribotone. Since the website appears defunct(?), I'm hoping to find one for sale on the Forum. Either a "D" or a "K".
10 string bar, 3 5/16 inches, 7/8 inches diameter.

Thanks,

I'm going to lower the asking price on this guitar (see first post). It is such a beautiful instrument, and an awesome sound, but it needs a new owner, as I have not been playing it lately.......I've had some interest but nothing has panned out, so I'm going to lower the price....

Tacoma WA area - My Duo w/ pedal Steel; Feb 3 and 24

I've been playing in a Tacoma WA area duo called " Boomer Madness " with myself on pedal steel, and Paul Wieneke on guitar, harmonica and vocals. We are doing mostly 60s and 70s rock covers (hence the name) . We are playing in Gig Harbor WA this Friday evening 2/3 at Forza's (coffee...

I play pedal steel with a contemporary Christian band in Tacoma WA. We play regularly at our (Lutheran) church but have been asked to play at other churches in the Puget Sound (Seattle) area. Mostly I do E9th type fills and intros, but some of the more up-tempo songs just call out (!) for a little C...

Thanks James and Dave for your suggestions. I obviously blew it when I picked the return flight, as I will be returning Monday and will miss a few great opportunities. But I appreciate your other suggestions on worthwhile things to do on the other days. I'm very excited for this trip!!! Thanks again...

Help for first trip to Nashville 7/8-14

I'm a steel player from Washington State, and I will be making my first trip ever to Nashville this week. I will be there from Wednesday July 8 - Monday July 14. I'd appreciate any information on what might be happening steel-guitar-wise. Thanks for your help!!

Hi Sandra. I don't post here often but I've found the SGF to be a wonderful resource for learning. Keyboards are also my main instrument....or at least they used to be....until I started playing the pedal steel several years ago. It has been an absolute joy to learn and to play, and the steel guitar...

I don't post here on the SGF much but read it all the time. I'll be at the Spokane show, maybe I'll see some of you there, and if you loc...

Hello Melinda,
I was surprised to see your address on your posting, and you can see why by mine. I haven't seen any other postings from Tacoma steel guitar players, and no women from anywhere nearby. Kind of a surprise this morning.
