MSA Millennium D-10 WTB
I am looking for a nice D-10 Millennium (1, 2 or M3). Five to eight knee levers preferred. Standard height preferred but I can alter if needed. I like the carbon fiber twill look and black would be fine too. I have cash or some lovely trade items too. Feel free to message me here or a call would be ...

Bill, Exactly. In addition to an all discrete transistor design I spent three months selecting the best sounding capacitors. Great capacitors contribute to a circuit sounding musical, clear and sweet in the highs and firm and big in the bass. High quality caps are really expensive but I think totall...

I was hooked on a Session 400 from the minute I heard Buddy Emmons record his live record in St. Louis in 1977. I was all of 22 years old and I sat in the front row, on the floor soaking up every note...and the tone was other worldly. Back up to 1976...I was playing in a band called Swingshift. Our ...

Hi Ron, Yes, it's a hot setup according to Bruce Bouton and that's pretty much all I need to hear :) I've heard sesh.400 through a variety of power and speaker combinations. It is exceptional sounding in all configurations. I am partial to a SPLIT CB12 or VB12. A lot of care went into that design. I...

Danny, I’ve used the sesh.400 in as many situations with power amps as I could find. I have used it with a few different power amps (including on of my SPLIT powered cabs) and I’ve used it with a Quilter Toneblock 202 as the power amplifier (going into the effects return). Plenty of gain for the 202...

I’ve known Dean Zelinsky (the founder and progenitor of Dean Guitars) personally for 50 years. He’s an excellent guitar designer. His guitars are probably the best value around since he carefully took manufacturing overseas. Just look at that bridge! Beautiful. Lacewood back? Are you kidding me? Bea...

Hi Ron, Yes, a self-powered speaker like a SPLIT CB-12 or VB-12 would be a very nice compliment to a sesh.400. That’s what I use. As you know, I stopped building powered speakers a number of years back. However, I designed the pedal to work well with just about any amplifier. As I mentioned before, ...

Hi all, Thanks very much for the positive comments about the sesh.400 preamp and especially to Rob Segal. His help has been invaluable in the development of the new pedal. Great ears, great graphics, great player, great guy!, . I'm planning on getting an announcement put together shortly with all of...

I had a couple of Session 400 amps back in the 70's and 80's. Wonderful amps. Mine both came with a JBL M31 which was similar to a D-130F. Mine never blew. Regarding the quality of the parts... I bought a new Session 400 in the early 80's for an eight week run of Best Little Whorehouse In Texas. It ...

That's got to be one of the first cut tails. I had 1090-D and it was a bolt on. I had 1127-D and it was on the Carter site as the first cut tail serial number. Obviously an error. This era for push-pulls was, in my opinion - the golden era - Really special sounding. Best wishes on finding an appreci...

Sirius XM radio George Strait station CH 58
A few days back, Sirius XM radio changed channel 58 "Prime Country" to what they call George Strait Ace in the Hole Radio. Nothing but George Strait music 24/7. I listen to it in my car and it's a master class in session steel guitar playing. Of course Paul Franklin is masterful on more th...

I recently got asked to add steel to a Hawaiian Christmas song for a band I record with - Susie Blue and the Lonesome Fellas. I've used a Franklin D-10 in the past and it works OK but not quite like this rig. Clinesmith 10 string lap steel -> Kemper Profiling Amp (Clean Deluxe profile) -> UA Apollo ...

Best recone service for EV Force 12?
I'm wondering if anyone has a recommendation for an excellent reconing service for EV Force series speakers. I bought one on eBay (I know, I know) and it arrived with a rubbing voice coil. I would like the reconer to use a factory recone kit. Thanks in advance! TC
