I had an older Rusler that was basically the same as this ZB except it was a D10…By far one of the best sounding pedal steels that I’ve owned !…..Nice job on the restoration!…..I know the work it took to get it looking like this !….Sweet !

You have to realize that these programs are modeled for guitar and guitar pickups…As pedal steel players, our pickups are a minimum of twice the power or more of your average guitar pickup…It stands to reason that you would have to make changes to the gain stage for starters to minimize distortion, ...

I had one of these Leslies for my first keyboard setup….My friends uncle wired a 100 watt Bogen Challenger PA amp into it, and I plugged my GEM portable organ into it….The GEM was a cheap copy of a Vox Jaguar organ…a step down from a Continental…I played the daylights out of that setup !..Great memo...

There’s a lot to be learned....Take your time and don’t get overwhelmed....To add insult to injury, you could be doing something correctly, and the program might just have a glitch (not your fault at all )....It will all come together in time...Jim

If your going to be tuning DOWN, my thoughts are that since the longer scale affords more string tension, you will have a tighter,punchier, more pronounced, tone....Just a thought ....Jim

David, I have to say that I agree with you as far as not liking George L pickups....that is until I bought a BMI universal with a George L 12-5 in it.....I’m not sure if the 12-5 is wired like a 12-1 which is the 12 string version of the 10-1, but with the switching capabilities of the 12-5, I can...

Dean, I’m a single coil kinda guy...I put Truetones in a lot of my steels...A lot of gigs wouldn’t handle single coils with the noise factor...Sadly, I had to put in a humbucker...I tried a few different pickups, and ended up with the XR-16....The low’s and the mids were a little more pronounc...
