Rick, do you think you might one day offer NIB magnet replacements/upgrades for Fender "Trap" pickups as an alternative to recharging the old degaussed alnico magnets?

Rick, I'm probably gonna come off sounding like a hillbilly (which I am), but what I was thinking was would it be possible to replace the existing weaker magnets in the Direct Contact pickups of say a 1950 Dual Pro with the new magnetic material, and preserve the look of the instrument, but still bl...

Hey Rick, I've been meaning to ask this for a while: I know you have your own version of the "Boxcar" that you've built. Have you experimented with using any of your magic magnet material in an original "Direct Contact" pickup in place of the alnico? If it worked, it sure seems l...

Just wanted to let you Jeremy Wakefield fans know that "The Lucky Stars", JW's western swing band is supposed to be playing tonight out in L.A. on KXLU - 88.9 FM from 8:30 - 10:00 (pm west coast). I think you might be able to catch it no matter where you live through the magic of the inter...

Hey Chas - I heard JW call out to you when he was joking about Steel Guitar Rag. Were you the fellow reclining on the floor right by the merchandise stand? I almost went over to ask and say "hello" one forum member to another, but I'm real shy and I wasn't sure who you were, and I didn't w...

Hi Eric, the CD ain't out yet according to Deke Dickerson at his show last week. It's gonna be on Ecco-Fonic records - I'm pretty sure, so as soon as it's availiable, it will be advertised on his website www.dekedickerson.com . I think he said sometime in March?

Have any of you Californians (or anyone else) that are out there "in the loop" heard any sneak previews or inside information on the 'Steel Guitar Caviar' album? Any word on a release date? I'm really looking forward to this coming out.

Deke's Guitar Geek Festival

I sure wish I was living in California and could easily go to this one. From the info on this write-up here it looks like Jeremy Wakefield's new record is coming out soon and is named "Steel Guitar Caviar" - it's been talked about before, and I think was originally going to be "Steel ...

You really need to check out Jason Lollar. He really knows his stuff when it comes to vintage pickups, is very approachable and has a quick turnaround time in getting your order to you. Plus he's a Forum Member here. If you order from Bill Lawrence, be ready to wait a minimum of 3 months. Check out ...

Mike, you can't go wrong with Jason Lollar. http://www.lollarguitars.com/ I sent an old horseshoe pickup to him a couple of years ago. He could have easily told me it needed to be rewound and charged me accordingly. It actually only needed minor work. My final bill: $15. Who knows, maybe you only ne...

Biller & Horton Texotica CD

I just got this CD in the mail today. It may be old news to some, but I think this is a really great CD. The interplay between these two is really entertaining. I'm figuring the folks in Austin can probably add more to this than me. Here's a little info, and a link to where I bought it. $10 plus $3 ...
