Thanks to all for your replies. I am going to have mine gone through, but it seems real nice. Used, but not abused. If anyone has more info, or knows of someone with one, I am all ears. I am guessing it is a rare item to be sure.

Sho-Bud head question...

I have a Sho-Bud head just like the one pictured in the photo below (bottom left of the photo, black cab). I have been digging around for information but have found nothing. I did talk to Jim Evans, who worked for Sho-Bud from 1965-69. He stated that these were before his time but he remembers seein...

In addition,I am interested in buying a rectangle name plate as found on the Pack A Seat and the Maverick. Finally, I am interested in the Sho Bud chrome script nameplate as found on the amps. Seems I a...

Can someone tab that break on Merle's "The Bottle Let Me Down"? I suspect fill is a better choice of words then break. I am a newbie and I work easer with tabs. Thanks!

Mooney's Rolling chord. What is that?

This was posted by another on the forum. I never saw a reply to it so I hope he does not mind me asking again....in his own words..... "Just curious -- Also, while we're speaking of the word "roll," I've heard Ralph Mooney's style described as a "rolling chord" style. I real...

Moon...are you saying the body tag on your Fender is a decal? I have never seen one in person but I had assumed that the logo on the foot board was a decal and the one on the body was a tag, like the ones on the amps. So much for assumptions. I can not go into the specifics but I will say it has been addressed quite a bit on the forum. Do a search for Mooney and you will find quite a bit of info. That being said, much of it deals with his 1KL set up as per Winnie's book. My question is what was his set up with his old Fender guitars? Sam...

Fender 400-800-1000-2000 Body Logo Wanted

I am looking for the Fender logo plate from the front of the 400-800-1000 & 2000 guitars. Are they the same for all years and for all 4 models? Thanks for any help or leads.

Fender 400-800-1000-2000 Logo Question

This may not be the place to post this question so if that is the case, apologies in advance. 1) Is the Fender tag that goes on the front of the body of the 400-800-1000-2000 guitars the same for all those models and all the years it was made? 2) Does anyone know of a source for a replacement, used,...

Thanks to everyone and your responses. Let me address a few points that have been brought up. 1) When I am talking west coast, I am talking Mooney. I am talking all of those great Toppa records like “Gene Davis: When He Let’s Her Forget” and Johnny & Jonie Mosby. I want that twanging bite. So I ...

Fender 800 question

I have a couple of question regarding the Fender 800 PSG. It may apply to the others as well. 1) When did they start making the natural color models? 2) I want to capture the early to mid-sixties west coast sound. Can a 70’s model Fender do it? Basically, is the pickup the same as those from the 60’...

Advice wanted: To use a cheater sheet or not...

Is it a good idea to place some sort of tape or paper, next to the fretboard, listing the various notes? Sort of the equivalent of the bass player who puts stickers on their fretboard to represent places they should put their fingers to sound the correct note. I thought this might be a nice way to q...

Fender Reverb Box: Has anyone used one?

I am curious if anyone has used the Fender Reverb Box that they reissued in the early 90’s, or an original for that matter. I have a Standel amp without reverb and am checking out my options. I know, I know, I can use a reverb pedal for a lot less money, but back to the box. Thoughts?

Bakersfield Sound: Is there a "course" teaching it?

Can anyone recommend a learning course for picking up that Bakersfield sound? I am looking for both videos and tab.
