Great Bob, I'm just glad it was everything I told you the guitar was when I sold it to you. I was a good guitar to me and I really enjoyed the sound of it when I played it. But, even though I really didn't want to sell it, I had to. I'm glad you like it.

I have Mullen D-10 and love the action on it. As far as tone goes, I don't think it sounds much different than an Emmons p/p that I used to play. Not good for resting your feet on the pedals while you play though. Has a tendency to sound out of tune....lol

Webb 614 e Speaker

When I play on the C6 neck and play the lower strings the speaker sound like it's going to blow out of the cabinet. The sound is not clean. It's a JBL k 130 4 speaker. The speaker is not cracked or anything. When I increase the sensitivity it dimishes somewhat. It's an older amp and hasen't been use...

Herb, Tony Zitnick was a good friend of mine when I was living in San Diego back in the 70's and 80's. I lost track of him since I've moved to Ohio. Also another very good C6th player out there named Ray Ferguson. Super player on the C6th neck. Sure would like to know where these guys are now. Tony ...

I have the Herby Wallace C6 course that has the tune Misty on it. It's a great course, unfortunatly I lost the cassette that goes with it. It is a very good course. Luckily I already knew how the melody of most of the songs go so using the tab wasn't that hard. The first song in it that I chose to l...

I think I fell in love with the sound of the steel guitar back in the 60's listening to Hank Williams songs then when I heard a Lloyd Green album not sure of the name. But, what made me decide to buy one and learn to play it was hearing a steel player named RAY MANGRUM playing an instrumental "...

Mybe I misunderstood what you were trying to say here. I was only able to listen to it on the net but was totally in awe of the great steel playing that I heard. Anyway, to get to the point. Why would you want everyone to play like Lloyd Green. If everyone played like him, then you would only need o...

I played with a guitar player in San Diego, Ca. years ago named Merv Cook, and if you closed your eyes and listened to him play you'd swear you were listening to Chet Atkins. His style, finesse, and sound were superb. He was the only person I ever new that could play that good besides Chet himself. ...

Put a cowboy hat on Michael Bolton and he could have even been in the top 10 on CMT...Thats what most of todays "so called country music" sounds like to me. Just a bunch of Michael Boltons with a cowboy hat.
Just my 2 cents.

Bobby, no confusion here. I played around with the way you do it a little more and it started to sound better to me too. That was the way I worked it out the first time I was trying to figure it out and at that time it just didn't sound right to my ears but the more I play it the better it sounds to...

I started playing steel guitar while i was in the Navy back in the 70's, learned how to play from Ray Mangrum who I believe played for Little Jimmie Dickens for awhile. Then I was a truck driver (LTL) and now work for the railroad. Tough to do but still get to play.

Bobby you are right you can do it that way. I've tried starting it out that way. and even tried starting it on the 12th fret on the tenth string along with the things you suggested. It all seems to work, I guess its just a difference in ears and what one person hears and what another person hears. L...
