I used to play for "Me" . Everyone does that. Of course there are other reasons that contribute to the "Me" reason, but "Me" ends up being the basis of all of them. (Money, family, friends, Jesus, etc.) Then I got tired of it. All of the reasons Don listed contributed t...

OK, I've tweeked and tweeked. (It's the bottom jpg in the origional post) 1. Fret numbers below the staff. 2. String numbers above. 3. Big enough for the elderly to see 4. My twinkie is now creamed. Whatcha think? Thanks Dave Little BTW. Do the exercise (above) with your eyes closed. Here's the pdf:...

I added a 2nd jpeg with Pete's boxes. Looks pretty good to me. A lot cleaner looking. Whadaya think? Pete, Since I'm using the lyrics system for the string numbers in Finale, I don't think I can get them above the staff without manually typing them in like regular text. They would have to be individ...

Pete, I like what you did. I'll give the box thing a whirl.

Fred,
I think you’re right about the repeating numbers for strings. I did what you suggest with the frets. Started to with the strings but backed off. I figured I’d get some flack if there was a note with no direction directly beneath. I’m gonna go all the way with your suggestion.
Thanks

How 'bout this tab style

Since I really don't care for Tabedit all that much, I've been using Finale and typing in the fret/string information where the lyrics would normally go. Works well for me. Saves space, time and aggravation. It contains all the information that Tabedit does and I think it encourages the learning of ...

Is this lever "Standard"

If a fellow wanted to write out a tab for some possible future interested parties, would using the "G" lever, that is, the lever that lowers the 6th string 1 whole step, be a safe bet that most people would have it on their guitar? If so, would it be reasonable to assume that they would ha...

Tabedit Question

Hey guys, I have the tabedit program, but I haven't used it for the last 4 or 5 years (maybe longer). Is there a way to input triplets? If there is, I can't seem to find it. Also, is there a way to have a pickup measure such that the measure numbers start with the actual 1st measure- not the pickup ...

Rick has a few videos where he discusses perfect pitch. He says most people can actually acquire it if they are started out very young (infants/toddlers). If you're already old - Forget It!

I got a few of these from James Morehead a few years back but lately, I've been unable to get any response from him.
I need a few more of them.
Thanks

G7b9b5 = G,B,Db,F,Ab If you're playing Db,F,Ab on the 5 chord in that 2m-5-1 progression, the G note is implied - even if the bass player is not on it (which he probably is). It is commonly resolved to a 6-9 or a Maj7 chord. Used a lot in jazz (especially "easy listening") The #5 (in lieu ...
