From what I read, just turn the Enhance knob to "off", and hiss will go away. I found this page of compressor reviews ( http://www.ovnilab.com/index.shtml ) which has >100 comps on it. About the LMB-3, the guy wrote; Boss LMB-3: This limiter pedal works and sounds much better than I expect...

Georg, you're getting my attention. You wrote; Using "delayed compression" like in the LMB-3 What do you mean "delayed compression"? I didn't think that pedal did any delay thing. I thought it was a "regular" compressor with an aural exciter circuit. Actually, it's supp...

I remember seeing Rusty Young with Poco in the early '70's, and he just used a Leslie cab for an organ type effect. In fact, I think he had two, stacked on top of one another. YMMV, -sd

Please don't judge me, but...

I started putting a grass hula skirt, about a foot long, around the front of my steel. That seems to hide the mechanics from the gawkers, and looks kinda cool too. Like I said, please don't judge me!

Thanks Benton!

Honestly, I thought BMI was long out of business! But I see now that a couple of guys got it going again. Huray!! This is probably old news to most, but a new discovery of mine.

I found their web site at http://www.beckmusicalinstruments.com (duh... I am the stupid! :\ )

Need a longer scale fretboard - where to find?

An old BMI... Not the original fretboard, and the replacement is too short of a scale. That is, the upper fret lines are "flat".

Where might I find a pattern or actual fretboard replacement that'll work better?

Bridge to rollers is exactly 24 inches.

TIA, -Dave

Any old FBB / SHF fans and 1970's LA "country" will remember Al Perkins. Here's Al playing "Sin City" in a recent posting on that YouTube place:

...or you buy one of those Artisan EA-1 6-bangers for about $50. For occasional use, they seem to do okay. I've got one and have gigged with it. No problems.

Google search "Artisan EA-1" should get you something on it.
