So, Eric West in Heaven Two Years a/o September 1, 2011

http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1205/3080_August_9_2012_Augie_at_Gladys_Place_1.jpg I'm having difficulty figuring out how these posts work...anyway, enjoy this photo of Eric's doggie "Augie". I promised Eric I'd take care of his most beloved "friend" and I'm doing so. Tha...

Eric's Mom is just saying "Hi"

This is the first time in a long time that I looked at the Forum. Doug Jones told me about your gathering and it's quite a hit, Bob! I like to think Eric is lingering around there somewhere! Well, especially by his "stuff". Enjoy! love always, Audrey Lundgren, aka Eric's Mom

I tried to post a photo of Eric and me, from my files, but it didn't work. I think you remember what Eric looked like. I'm sure his presence was felt as several played that fantastically restored steel of his. Thanks Bob and Bob L. and all who came together with parts. Eric is blown away by all the ...

Bob, words can't express my gratitude for what you are doing in remembrance of my son, Eric. I am continually amazed at how much he was loved and admired for his playing/relationships and the love of music as he expressed himself. Bringing "Happy Friendly Little Eric" back into his life in...

Bob, this is fantastic! It warms my heart to see how you appreciated my son Eric's love for his music. A mother's love for her son couldn't be more "lifted up." Like Eric said in his obituary, "...playing music from my earliest years it seemed to be the common thread of my small but s...

Don't try this.

I lost 20 lbs of fluid from around my ribcage in 2 days. I nearly missed an "opportunity" to continue my life saving chemo because some chunky nurse thought I was 'losing too much weight'. About three years ago when I thought I was "cancer free" I started collecting different siz...

I heard myself from Mr J in Bobbe's store one morning after a jam with two of the best in 'the business' at the VFW that he looks, or did at the time, at it as whether or not he feels like being spanked. To him, getting 'whupped' is something that is optional. He simply chose and/or chooses not to b...

Well, this SUCKS. It was Willie's PLACE and THE ROADHOUSE. Seems like they clipped the best of both of them and left the rest. "Outlaw Country" was getting more "bubble gum" by the day. Guess it's time to get my Ipod plugged in and load up on my own collection. No Smiley here.. EJL

IME you clean out the finished threads real good of oil and red loctite the coils in. Immediately screwing the leg in and working it around so it isn't too tight, and taking it out while the loctice dries. It's easy enough to drill by hand with a lagrer dril, but deliberation is the secret. :) EJL

I had occasion to work a job in a band backing Jack Greene a couple weeks ago. Jack is having severe memory problems. While backstage I mentioned to him that I took lessons ffrom a guy that was in ET's band the same time he was. His "manager" was kind of "minding him". (It was no...

I know it's not what you specifically asked, but the Ninth (to the I chord) as a leading note allows you to play with the most chords. I 4 5 2 6 and a few others. Sus4 or the sus4 note is probably the worst habit as far as playing a chord that wil fit more than one chord if you are not sure. Back to...

Well Peter, you're in the right place. You noted that flattening some thirds fouls other intervals. On the PSG, you can tune a few positions , or a least a couple to accommodate flatted thirds. Then you have the problems of out of scale notes and/or accidentals. A lot more things are fouled by it th...

Well during the 80s and a lot of the 90s there was a steady current of players in Portand. Both in town working gigs and passing through. The Forum has sure helped in these later times when things aren't as busy. I talk to probably 3 players during any given week, and see maybe 1 at my gigs, and sin...

What a Gig!

Turned out GREAT. What a couple of Class People and performers. Glad I did a lot of practicing. We did Mr Greene's hits, and he still has "It". Statue of a Fool, Walkin The Floor, and a bunch of others. Same voice I remember. As mentioned, that man has certainly paid his dues, and we owe h...

Well, you are always going to be playing to your ears . Whatever your tuning method, you have to give it long enough for your internal computer and your reflexes to adjust to it. And for (them) to (adjust to) the instruments you are playing with (at any given time). Sometimes to a sharp guitar, or a...

Well. Now I'm getting nervous.. I think the "pick up" band gigs I've done over the years with artists that do that have been the most rewarding. I remember Hank Thompson asking me to take his big old gibson out and do a sound check. There was just something about it... A bit of practicing ...
