My deepest apologies to everyone for trying to vent my frustration here. I just thought that after the MSA problem with deposits and then the Emmons mess that someone would help me get my problem with a builder straightened out with no hard feelings. Thanks all, WC Edgar

Yes Jim let's shut this one down, we wouldn't want to make any waves now would we? After all don't you play one of this brand of guitars? Bob, let's close her down and everyone can look for us on Judge Judy if the backlog isn't too long, if it is I'll wait. WC

Thanks to everyone that has emailed me and didn't want to post, I really appreciate your help. Also thanks Jim P., Roger and Bob for your input. As for Jim Smith, he has based his opinion what the builder in question has filled him in on and doesn't have any idea what went on between myself and the ...

Up until this point the builder in question and...

$500 Steel Guitar Deposit-Refundable or not?

I am having a bad time with a guitar manufacturer that I had sent a $500 deposit to. It was a deal where I would play the guitar on the road for a bit for some added exposure with a well known country artist and report to the manufacturer what I liked or disliked about this or that about the guitar ...

About 1993 I was living in Nashville and working with Marty Haggard I believe at the time. Had a few weeks off so I took a week long gig with a guy named Jim Purty and drove from Nashville to Norfolk Va in a crowded van pulling a trailer. Before we even started playing, this goofy drummer named Jim ...

You would think that there would be more than 2 steel players in this area looking for an easy hard country steel gig but I guess not. Hope it wasn't the fact that you had to have good intonation that scared them all away. Everone bitches there is no real country music out there but no one will even...

Thanks for the nice call today Hal. Glad the case is doing you a good job and hasn't been thrown out of a 747 or used for a wheel chock for a Greyhound Bus. I'd like to find someone in Kansas or Oklahoma or southern Nebraska to play steel on my show but it's pretty slim pickins out here for people w...

Before you go cutting you might check the thread size. On a lot of Sho Buds they used a "raised and rolled thread" versus the "cut" thread. A little something I picked up from Mr. Sho Bud himself (Duane Marrs) when I lived in Nashville in the 80's and 90's. Good luck, WC

Any Players in the Provo/Salt Lake City Utah Area?

I'll be flying into Salt Lake City on Dec. 5th to pick up my MCI Tour Bus and will be picking the 6th and 7th at a small bar in Paysun Utah. If there are any players in the area please contact me and come on out. I may need to borrow a Peavey amp because I hate to play through a Twin that the guitar...

New Years Eve my Sho Bud goes in the case and under the bed. I'm in the process of selling everything else including my 76 Vette. The only reason the Sho Bud stays is because it was willed to me by my mentor. I just came to a crossroads in my life where it wasn't fun anymore. I have played with Tim ...

What it all comes down to after all the talk about an inch too high or low is that either you can play the instrument or you can't. I don't really care if it's 21" or 20" or even 19" because sometimes I play in boots and sometimes in flat street shoes and sometimes in tennis shoes. Wh...
