New E-mail Address

Due to problems we've been having with our e-mail service, we've changed our e-mail address to info@gfimusicalproducts.com. We try to respond to e-mails as promptly as possible and this should get us back on track. You can still reach us the old fashioned telephone way at (817) 784-3555.

Thanks!

The screw we use is a 6-32 x 5/16" Phillips pan head machine screw. We have them here and can send you some, just e-mail or call us. Or as mentioned, most any hardware store would probably also have them. A 3/8" long screw will also fit if you have trouble finding 5/16". We appreciate...

Sorry it's taken a few days to jump in on this. There is a specific procedure to putting new strings on our keyless tuners. Each finger needs to be returned to it's starting position as close to the nut bar as possible. This also ensures a straight shot at the anchoring screw with the screwdriver. E...

I cannot take sides in this situation as it would not be appropriate. I do, however, wish to comment on the word pressboard as it can be thought of as particle board which consists of not much more than sawdust. The bottom of the GFI seat is wafer board, large chips, and designed for roof decking. I...

The pedal guitar in question is at least 10 years old if it has Barcus Berry pickups. We now use GFI-II pickups as standard for our Pro models. They are made by George "L" to our specifications and we would recommend them as a replacement for the Barcus Berrys. Check this with anyone playi...

I appreciate the good comments by Carl regarding our keyless tuner. However, I do take exception to a couple of items mentioned. String rattle is normally caused by rattling against the side walls of a "V" groove. There is no string rattle with a single point contact. String rattle against...

The GFI model referred to in the original post with 3 pedals and 2 knee levers is our Student Model. It has a single finger type changer and to accomplish lowers, a string is actually raised at the changer for its open tuning and then returned to "neutral" to lower the pitch. This makes th...

GFI Website

After procrastinating for too long, there were enough things we wanted to change and add to our website that it seemed easier to just totally redo it. It is finally done and we invite anyone who is interested to check it out. It can be reached at www.gfimusicalproducts.com or www.gfipedalguitars.com...

No one is more opposed to plywood than me. However, die board is not to be confused with regular plywood. Many kinds of die board are available. The only one I use in our Pro Model is all maple, meaning every ply is maple. It is stronger, more stable and more resonant than solid maple. It is also mo...

It's a little late to join in on the detuning issue, but better late than never. In my opinion, there is more than one factor involved, body drop being one of them. I used to believe in total rigidity with heavy thick bodies (Fender). This is fine for a western swing sound but today's Nashville soun...

I would like to add a few comments about keyed vs. keyless and 24" vs. 25" scales. It would be inappropriate for me to take a side as I would be prejudiced. Keyless is one of my pet projects but due to using 5 different extrusions and long assembly time, we end up with less profit on the k...

I've got to correct my earlier post, since I made a typographical omission. Only the PEDAL guitar line was discontinued as knee levers were new and the older models did not offer them. Too many people were ordering special setups and I reluctantly agreed with marketing that this instrument did not b...

There were about 15 PS 210's produced by Fender. The entire steel guitar line was discontinued at that time, not just the 210. They felt that there were too many players wanting different combinations of set ups and that their production wasn't intended to be a custom shop.
