Didn’t Forum member T. Sage Harmos build a proto-type pedal steel with stepper-switches back around 2002/2003? Not to derail this thread but out of curiosity, does anyone still have a Harmos carbon-fiber lap-steel guitar?

I was fortunate to see Mike and Jerry at a very small venue in Philadelphia, PA, many years ago. The place was packed and so small that I sat about 3 feet BEHIND Jerry, it was a great show. :D

Rusty Young is one of my very favorite pedal steel guitarists and Poco one of my all time favorite bands. I saw them in concert 4 or 5 times over the decades and they were always excellent. My favorite show was at the old Devon PA, theater-in-the-round, back in the 70s. Rusty was a wild man back the...

Jimmie,

Others would probably charge 3x the amount you're asking for, if they used the same beautifully figured maple wood.

It's truly a gorgeous console steel.

I hope to order one from you someday.

Meanwhile, best wishes and good luck with the sale.

For years, I've read on-line complaints about John Hall not making Rickenbacker guitars more easy to play (among other things), even though he sells every guitar made. Granted, he purposely keeps their guitar production at levels to insure all the guitars are sold. And on the other hand, long-time G...

If Rusty writes a bro-country song, maybe it'll get played on the popular country radio stations. But I doubt it as he probably doesn't meet the age requirement of today's station programmers. If his new album gets any publicity, I'd expect POCO fans and fans of '70s country-rock to give it a previe...

Re: First pedal steel (Fender 1000) and a couple questions

P1 P2 P3 P4 G# A E F# D# B C# C# G# A F# G# E D B C# whether there's a better compromise to get a workable E9th setup on this neck? This is probably the best tuning, but I would change P4 so that it lowers both E strings to D#. Doug, what would you recommend if Nathan had (6) floor pedals instead o...

New PSGs In The Future?

I'm assuming that like myself, many PSG builders are close to or at the age where they can retire (like Mr. Zumsteg and Mr. Franklin).

If my assumption is (even partially) correct, who are the younger generation PSG builders that will continue the advancement of the PSG?
