Hi Jon - is your Weissenborn still available? I've been a low-tuned guitar fan for years & just went ape when I heard Jerry Douglas' studio version of "Monkey Let the Hogs Out". This was in C-tuning on what sounded like a Weissenborn - had only heard this done live in D. Anyway I was a...

Wow Erv, I've gotta start checking out the other forums on here - I had no idea this series was going on! By all means send me a copy of "It Is No Secret". I'll shoot you my mailing address in an email. I'm just getting back into PSG after a 9-year hiatus. Am slowly working on integrating ...

RE: Fessenden D10

Pardon my ignorance but what are the particulars of the Tommy Young mod? I've heard _about_ it but what is the intent - tone improvement? volume?

It's a pretty one even without the decal! I'm definitely interested as I was just inquiring about a Fessy D10 thru a dealer.

thanks

Giorgio, I agree - you would be better off with a 3 X 4 guitar. I was looking at this one myself on the Carter website this morning - it is a mighty pretty instrument! I imagine Carter's shop could handle adding additional knee levers but you could probably find a full-featured S-10 for less than wh...

Hi Lee -
Didn't you have a club in Pasadena back in the 60's/70's?. If you're the same one then I grew up just a few blocks from where you lived near Hobby Airport.

Hi Dave - Try Musician's Friend (www.musiciansfriend.com) - they seem to have the best prices on what has come to be a fairly expensive commodity - power vacuum tubes. There are several manufacturers of 6550's - generally they run about $85 to $100 a pair and unless you replace all 6 tubes (using ma...
