Parametric EQ. year`s ago I learned as Buddy Emmons has said mid`s is everything get into the right area on mid`s and do with it what you will[most cut] then treble and bass to taste. Parametric EQ is the best way to tune that in. A lot of classic amp sound`s old and new are in character with where ...

The two player`s I would like to throw in the hat are by no mean`s new player`s, but player`s that have been out of the loop for a while and coming back strong. Albert Talley, from Hank THompson, Bob Wills, and Ray Price fame to today he`s been a major player in the Dallas market since the 60`s. Loo...

Peavey and Evan`s are the state of the steel art. Of coarse there are alot of Webb amp`s,Stereo Steel, Mesa Boogie and Tubework`s for the tube guy`s and of coarse the old twin`s are popular, all of these are great amp`s depending on your tone and power need`s. Evan`s has a new nitch with jazz guitar ...

Jody everybody is subject to there taste in music. For me I`ll take the journey forward to me the best is yet to come, I hope the player`s will be well schooled to steel`s route`s in the future but get on with the lick`s that have not been played. Im waiting patiently [NOT] for the new Jerry Brightm...

Thanks Jeff I will let you right my threads next time. [smiles] I started playing music when I was only 5 years old coming from a musical family. I was playing 6 night`s a week on drum`s with my dad and uncle at 6, my point is Ive seen generation`s of music with awareness. One thing I`ve learned ear...

I LOVE hughey`s playing he`s in my top 5 steel player`s along with Jerry Brightman, Weldon, Mooney and well mayb...

What about steel`s, on acoustic guitar`s it`s a given as long as they have solid top`s, on electric`s maybe but the pickup`s wear out, bit they also get broke in like a pair of shoes. But what about steel`s, maybe not mica`s but all wood guitar`s, and how about the infamous push-pull could there age...

Susan, I know your problem. I just sold a 500 last week. There are a lot lighter amps than that out there though. The new 1000 is not near as heavy even though its a large 300 watts of power. I believe it`s about the same weight as the 400 but spreading it out in the bigger cab seems to make it feel...

Francis, this subject has come up several times on the forum. There a great sounding amp, but depending on your style of playing they generally wont make it power wise. Even the jazz guitar market has shifted strongly in favor of Evan`s amp`s wich have the warm tone but a lot more power. Mike Brown ...
