Thanks John. That lyrics line is really helpful for songs with lots of fills. That's very useful to me.

That is great tab Jeff. Thank you for the great work and turning me on to the Live at Billy Bob's album. That's like a master class in Honky Tonk Steel.

Twin Falls, Idaho steel guitarist Mike Remming

This is really hard for me but I want to inform everyone that our good friend and steel guitarist Mike Remming passed away August 31 from a very sudden and tragically brief illness. We are still heart-broken for his wonderful wife, Sherri and their family. Mike had quite a few steel playing friends ...

James, If you're comfortable with linux then I won't hesitate to recommend Ardour ( http://www.ardour.org/ ). Ardour is the open source project that the Harrison Mixbus 32c is built from. Its not as full featured as Mixbus 32 is but for my purposes its way more DAW than I'll ever use. I find it quit...

Calf Plugins

Loaded the Calf Plugin bundle into the Ardour DAW and found a couple that I really like. The 12 band Equalizer is extremely easy and IMO a very nice plugin.

EMCI Repair Advice

I broke my EMCI D10 today. One of the two wood screws that fastens the LKR knee level to the bottom of the deck broke off today. It broke off below the surface of the deck so I guess I am forced into drilling / tapping it to extract the remains. Does anyone have any tips or advice or precautionary s...

I've looked through the forum before for Ardour users and I think I've only seen it mentioned once before. One sound man I work with will capture tracks on his Mackie DL32 and send them to me to import and clean up where I can. That works well. Other than that I just use a Lexicon Alpha interface an...

I have been using Ardour off and on but I am by no means proficient at it yet. I was trying to run it on seriously under powered hardware and never got real tight with it. I've recently upgraded my hardware so now I am getting ready to start some small projects. I'll be following this thread for tip...

My experience on Thursday night reinforces what Bob Hoffnar said about good molded ear buds. It was so loud on stage that the level of noise bleeding through my cheap ear buds made it too dangerous to turn my in ear monitor up enough to be heard over the band. I traded the in ear monitor for an ear ...

Frank, It was Slim in Denver. He was using a very pretty Excel. Sounded great too. He tore it up. I don't remember who else was with Mark at that time but they were ridiculously hot.
