Dean Rankin

Sadly my long time friend Dean Rankin peacefully passed away at his home on January 3rd. He was a wonderful player and a generous person. I am missing him already.

Snap ring pliers

The ones that I use are something that my employer had in stock that work better than anything else I've tried. Knipex 46 21 A01 they're made in Germany. I saw some on ebay, they're still available.

Charley, I'm pretty sure that your steel was a prototype from 74. I remember the tubular legs that went up thru the tops of the leg corners, none of the production guitars had that. Your guitar was handmade by Chuck Wright in Gresham, Or. My first pedal steel looked very similar to it, wished I had ...

I worked at Sierra 79-84 and I don't recall any setup manual for the 2 and 2 changer. Your changer was in my opinion, well balanced, whereas the 3 and 2 the lowers were long and stiff.

You can use the 3 and 2 setup and it will be very close. The lowers might be different, but trial and error will prevail. S-10? D-10? Good Luck.

Roswell steel dealer

I remember seeing a picture of him at his house with a Sierra that we built for him and he looked at that time to be in his fifties or early sixties to me. My guess is he's probably gone. I think he dressed up the Sierra's with pinstriping and eagle decals or something like that. It's been a long tim...

Roswell steel dealer

When I worked at Sierra back in the late seventies there was a guy that bought some guitars for resale that lived in Roswell, his name was Lynn Woolrich as I recall. Hope this helps.

8th pedal useage

I use the 8th pedal almost every time I use the C6th neck on a song. It has a classic sound that I really like on swing songs.
