Amputee

I am a steel player and now have a below knee amputation on my left leg and foot. Does anyone else have this situation? Are there ways to work the pedals for either neck? I have a prosthetic leg and foot.
Thanks

Date this p/p Emmons

I purchased a used Emmons D-10 in 1982...the previous owner told me it was a 1966 version, was somewhat ignorant at the time and trusted his story. I had somebody, knowledegable, take a look at the guitar and he told me it was a 1979 version which shocked me. I found a list of serial #'s from Emmons...

I have gotten at least a dozen inquiries on this guitar. I will get Billy Cooper to appraise it for me and will post pics on the forum when i am ready to sell it. Incidentally it is a D-10 8pedals, 4 knees. Thanks for your interest. Will also include serial #.

'66Emmons p/p value

does anyone have an idea of the value of this guitar....it has a brace in one of the corners of the cabinet and the pedals are scored(better grip, i suppose). I may be interested in parting with it.

Buddy Cage

Buddy has always been one of my favorite steel players due to his amazing skills, and his moving the steel into the world of rock. I had the great pleasure of meeting him recently while touring with NRPS..he sat with me for nearly and hour while we talked steel, his recordings, his love of music. He...

There business is well organized, efficient and always reasonably priced. Billy is extremely flexible and has done emergency adjustments if...

I too am a Dead fan, in fact the Workingmans Dead album and American Beauty are some of my favorites and they certainly influenced my desire to learn the steel. Yes, despite the inane debates about Jerry's skill on the steel he was more of a guitar player but he helped spread the steel into the rock...

It just so happens that I had a massage today due to back pains from too much steelin. Several weeks ago i had a free weekend sans family responsibilities and spent about 12 hours at the steel...the next day i could barely stand much less bend over...unfortunately i had been playing the steel for 20...

What a wonderful posting!! I do not have the technical background that many of you apparently have but I have a fairly good set of ears...I played on a '66Black Face for many years with my strat and '66emmons p/p. Lloyd's playing on the Byrds Sweetheart of the Rodeo(Hickory Wind)was directly respons...

I started on a Shobud Maverick....then an emmons p/p '66 and purchased a D-10 Derby in 2000. I second everybodys favorable comments regarding the Derby and i havent looked back once at the ol'emmons....needless to say I have hung onto the emmons for sentimental sake and if i wanted to get a more vin...

It would appear that the problem is resolved. I will know better next week when we have a gig and i play louder than in our practice room...the issue pertains only to distortion/overdrive. I am playing on a derby, having george L 66 pickups, thru a nashville 1000...it has an incredibly clean sound w...

Before i waxed the pickups, i still wasnt sure that my pickups were "microphonic". I lowered the pickups and no longer have that annoying feedback!!

I am a very patient man and nonjudmental for the most part. I am not challenging the veracity of Terry's story but still hold him accountable..even if it takes years to supply the goods or refund. For the past 35yrs. i have been a socialworker/therapist. I have heard tons of stories like his on a re...

I wasn't implying that any malintent nor skullduggery was going on but you gotta admit that an explanation would be in order. Where did our money go? I'm not "resenting" just annoyed, especially when the man told me he would refund my money...after reading his book I know he had his share ...

In reviewing comments on this forum regarding distortion....my distortion feedsback like crazy....it was suggested that my pickups were microphonic and that waxing them would resolve this problem...could somebody walk me thru that process....thanks

As with most things, compromises are part of life....I have still not been satisfied with my distortion situation...used the boss stomps and currently a Deucetone Rat....it feeds back like crazy.. also there is so much noise when i play more than two notes together, given how small most stages are, I...

Terry, Got the mag last week, have read it several times....I really like the emphasis on being creative with the steel and getting out of the box!!! I frankly find the cliche ridden nashville stuff a bit redundant and totally unimaginative....lyrically speaking that is.. I started out playing class...
