The double shot is entirely supported by the screw you use for the strap. It floats above the top and doesn't come near the back. It works well with just the Fishman Nashville PU but not with the Aura. Any other stuff you just need to try it and see if it adds anything worthwhile.

Gryphon Strings still makes and sells a SS tapered bar. They are easier to hold than the round bars IMHO. Basil of Ezzee Slide in the UK made a tapered 8 string Delrin bar for a few people a few years ago. Supposedly, the tapered bar was the favorite of Joaquin Murphy.

It’s a cheaper way to make them louder, still keep the nut fairly low for minimal neck pressure and the metal shifts the tone freq. spectrum slightly higher. The unslotted wood nut is for placement of the metal one.
