Another machine down.

I turned on the machine the morning after the time went back to standard time. It has never booted up. The message I get "it is in power save mode." And there it remains. It is a Dell 530. I checked out the battery, by leaving it out for over a minute. No dice! This is my second machine to...

Peterson VS 11 strobe tuner

My tuner went on the blink after 3 years. I sent it back to have it repaired. Long after the warranty had expired. After a couple weeks, I received an email from 'Sue' saying they had repaired it "free of charge". I put it through the paces and it is as new. Thanks to:Sue Haslam, John Norr...

[password needed to open a recent, used Vista computer.

I just bought a newish Dell computer from a Student here in WVU. It has his name and demands a password to open. I never used a password on any of my machines, therefore am completely in the dark. There is supposed to be a disk made originally, which has to be used in order to change the name and pa...

The GatewayHP marrige. The Win 7 Vista and x model party.

Thanks Wiz: I solved the problem, at least temporarily, by installing the Gateway Disk, which wiped out the HP stuff. I have to start from scratch, now, but I am able to get onto the internet. I have 30 days to get in touch with Microsoft. I have a hi bred, now. Gate+HP. The Win 7, the Win Vista and...

changing HD drive from one machine to another.

I've just put a hard drive into a HP I've had for few years, which eats up hard drives. I removed it from a newer Gateway which went south after a couple years. They said it was the Board which was shot. The HP came to life at once, but a message said I have to have it signed by a Microsoft rep., in...

The knobs that hold the legs on a crown Sierra

sierra company? How can I get hold of Mr, Baker.?
Joe Wright's Sierra site is long out of date (2007)
and the phone # given produces an out of service
recording. I talked to Tom awhile back on the phone, but he called me.

Thanks:

Two for sale: Sierra and Carter U12 's

Last night, I came to the conclusion to sell 2 of my U 12 guitars. 1. A Sierra U12 which I purchased off the forum on 2/07. There was some damage when I received it. There fore I must take some loss on it. The damage amounted to a piece of mica cracked off near the pickup, which I've since glued bac...

These nuts are not threaded beforehand. They are turned onto the threaded rod, which makes them very tight fitting. The only solution is to work them back and forth until they are loose enough so they will not turn the guitar over when you twist them. Both of my Carter guitars are still very tight a...

bending a pedal rod explained.

A half-inch galvanized water pipe, any length to put in a vice. Bore a 1/4 inch hole about 3/8 inch from the end. This is where you insert the pedal rod in order to bend the hook. Some rods bend fairly easy, others need a little heat. You can purchase a practice rod and try it out before doing your ...

I too, am over 6 ft. 2 inches. I make my own rods. I go to the local Lowes store and purchase the rods. Cut a quarter inch hole 3/8 inch from the end of a 1/2 water pipe about 8 inches long to use for a bending tool. Clamp the rod in a vise and bend a hook in it, using the same angle as the original...

cheap knee lever fix

I have mentioned this some time ago: Go to Lowes (or some place) where they handle plastic water tubing. purchase about 5 feet of half inch. Cut with a hacksaw about 6 inch lengths of the stuff per knee lever. Heat very quickly the end ( over stove top burner, etc.) and shove it up onto the lever. C...

The last four U12 guitars I have, or had, have color coded tuning nuts. I used magic markers. It helps me to see which strings are pulled , by which pedals or levers. Some of the 6 string guitars have the ball ends color-coded, too, from the factory.

Hello !
Some time ago, I ran across a diagram which
showes how to restring a foot volume control.

Now that I can use it, I cannot locate it.

I saved it but that was 2 computers ago.

Any one know what I am referring to?
